“i think i have monopoly at home.” hikari clasps her hands in front of her, putting on a smile that only the class rep can pull off. “sometimes you just have to play the classics, you know?”
’ HEY , ASUKA. ’ He starts off. The pair of them had been simply lingering in the hallway waiting on the teacher to arrive with the classroom key so they along with the other students could start their test. Masaomi’s mind had wandered elsewhere , however. Thoughts filled of nothing but his BOYFRIEND. It made him grin from ear to ear. Left him with an overwhelming feeling of warmth. Something that was undoubtedly FOREIGN to the boy but welcomed nevertheless. A minor pause. ’ What do ya think of..Shinji ? You mentioned he was your bro ? Is that really true ? ’ / @derverlust has entered the warehouse !

Naota was never a god-fearing man, he wasn’t even religious! Yet there was something about being surrounded by military personnel with their guns drawn that would put the fear of god in anyone.
When he had first awakened to clear blue skies, and looked around to what he thought to be familiar surroundings. Thinking he was just in deep Japanese forestation, maybe even heavy farming land. That until, he realized the ringing in his ear wasn’t from a harsh landing, but the sound of sirens going off in the distances. The sound of too polite yet firm, robotic prerecorded voice announcing evacuation. Flood the air, in a slight daze he had gotten to his feet and wonder towards that sirens. He called the place he had walked up to a military base but, honestly, he didn’t really know what the building was. And when his pleads of help was met with hostility, he really started to miss the weird aliens he had gotten used to seeing.
The questioned came after, he was finally given water he had requested surely a hundred times by now. And when he starter answering their questions, if not all but most of his answers were lies. He had the feeling, they wouldn’t take kindly to a “dangerous world eating Space Pirate sent me here” as an answer.
Once they were done, and they escorted him through the many metal doors, out into what looked like a waiting room with a giant window. He could finally see the deep crimson red sky, the smoke smothering from the earth. Where he was pretty sure he had landed, his face sunk in like he had just eaten a sour candy. He when he was seated and left alone, he sank in his seat a little looking at the red clouds that were slowly disappearing. That would probably explain the sirens, and now he was praying to whatever god that was listening. Not to have him linked to giant explosion, nor red sky.
@derverlust ♥’d for a starter.
“ is there...any particular reason why you keep staring at me like that ? “
she had felt the other’s eyes on her for a while now --- & as much as she hated to point it out, that level of attention was making her severely self conscious. so of course...she had to reluctantly address it.
On the account of the most recent Angel attack—‘ conducted ’ by the one recorded thereafter as Israfel—it was felt that, to better avoid another close call, not only would the typical synchronization tests between the pilots and their Evangelions were to be performed more frequently, but actual full-scale combat simulations were to be coordinated to allow better harmonization ( in combat, at least ) between the pilots both in preparation for future Angel attacks that were, of-course, inevitable, and if the next attack were to come tomorrow or the day after. It was something that even Commander Ikari agreed in allowing, which naturally led to Ayanami Rei agreeing all the same without complaint. After all, they were but children ( even she, who was older than any being in this world, knew this ) fighting what should be someone else’s battle while wielding a power that man had no business daring to possess. There was no other choice however, no other option for their survival outside from playing in the realm of God; a necessary evil as it is said.
Just like it was a necessary evil to cooperate with such pertinacity; Ayanami Rei was a girl who had nothing and, for all intents and purposes, was nothing. Her existence began & ended in a decree, one that was channeled through the usage of her Eva. It was the only connection she had to the world and all of the people in it, the one and only way to interact with those she would never have the pleasure of knowing nor acting upon otherwise. Almost in spite of knowing her existence was, ultimately, fruitless and anything she were to savor was meaningless, it was through the Evangelion that she was able to make an effort to matter as she willingly carried both the weight of others and the world on herself, it was the idea of this selfless sacrifice to repay those whom gifted her kindness despite the nothingness that pertains to her heart that she felt, at least for a while, like something.
But the Second Child, the girl by the name of Asuka Langley Sōryū, was different from Ayanami Rei; the complete opposite one might say. As rather than living for the world, the world had done the living for her. It was not hard to tell ( especially for her of all people ) the kind of person she was as she exerted herself over others, demanding everyone fall in line to what she said she thought & felt when, in actuality, she needed the validation of others and who they are to counter-balance the girl’s hatred of self. It was spoken both in the way the Second thought and acted as she pushed her Eva, Unit-02, as a symbol of her own self-worth to such extremes it practically damned everyone else around her, including herself; it was an ego running amok, a selfish heart crying out not for attention but instead the opposite: she sought someone to condemn, someone to blame for why the Second ended up this way—Be it towards Adam’s progeny, Commander Ikari’s son, or whomever dared to make her remember why the Second loathed herself so much.
Two very different reasons and two very different children that were, alas, too different from one another to co-exist...
And as it were, the First and the Second would fail at this rate as their differences made it hard & harder for one to keep up with the other; doubly so when, for the umpteenth time, the Second felt the need to show up the First, all while heedless of the high-caliber ‘ dummy ’ rifle aimed in her direction.
❛ Second, move from the line of fire. ❜
