It had been a full week since Drace and Gabranth had moved to Rabanastre. And during that week the judge had been in more meetings then he could count. While Drace herself had been moping about the palace. If you were to ask her, Drace would tell you that there wasn’t anything to do inside the palace. But after talking with some of the servants, and after a talk with a Seeq Drace learned of a tavern called the Sandsea, where she could find some hunts.
After she left the palace Drace found herself quite lost. She had never seen so many bangaa and seeq before. As Drace was trying to navigate her way through the busy bizarre, someone bumped into her.
“Oops sorry.” Drace scowled and grabbed the person by their arm, it was boy around Drace age. He had tanned skin, blond hair, and gray eyes and wore a loose cropped open metal vest fastened with a pendant. His wore dark blue pants were held up by a red ribbon sash belt, and are tucked into a pair of knee-high steel boots.
“No, I’m sorry I was trying to find my way.” Drace smiles letting his arm go. The boy titled his head,
“Lost? You new?”
“I moved here a week ago with my father, he’s a merchant. I was trying to find the Sandsea.” Drace admits with smile, “Sorry to take up your time.” As she turned to leave. Drace left the bizarre, finding a friendly looking moogle.
“Maybe that moogle can help me.” She thinks approaching.
“Hey, wait a minute what business do you have at the Sandsea?” He asks running up to Drace.
“I hunt, I heard there was notice board, I was planning on taking up some hunts.” The teen gave Drace a smile.
“I know where the Sandsea is, but you don’t know your way around the city. Your also a hunter, I’m guessing an okay one.”
“Better then okay.” As Drace sized the boy up, what was his game?
“Right sorry,” As he held up his hands, “I want… no need to learn to hunt. If I show you around and help you out with the hunt, and we complete it. Why don’t we split the reward? So fifty/fifty?”
“And all you want out of this is to learn the finer points of hunting and half the reward? What’s game?” She asks crossing her arms.
“I swear that’s all I want. I don’t need to explain myself to you. Do we have deal?” As he held out his hand, “I’m Vaan.”
“Drace.” As she shook his hand. Vaan smiled,
“Alright let’s go and no offense, but you’re not going to last very long with your shirt being long sleeved.” As Vaan turned left heading for a side alley. Drace snorted and followed after him, but maybe he was right. Drace was wearing a teal blue long sleeved shirt, brown leather pants, boots and she had on a belt with her sword ice brand on her hip. Hopefully she would be okay.
There first hunt was to take care of a pack of wolves in the Estersand in an area called the Yardang Labyrinth. And Vaan was right, Drace was over heating mid-way through there hunt. Thankfully or not one of wolves ripped off the sleeves of Drace shirt. But after that they killed the wolves and left and headed back to the city.
“400 gil for you and 400 gil for me.” As Drace counted up and dived the reward. “That was fun maybe we could do it again some time.”
“Really?”
“We make a good team.” Drace smiles, noticing that the sun was starting to sink, “I should go my father is expecting me home.” As she started to walk away.
“Hey Drace? If you’re not busy tomorrow, how about we meet in front of the Sandsea tomorrow say mid-day?” Drace smiled, maybe this could be fun.
