I’m an overlander and novelist whose novels are forged from my true expeditions of Earth’s toughest and most enchanting realms—the Taklamakan Desert and the Tibetan Plateau.
This life might seem worlds away from my former days as an electronics engineer, living the coffee-and-code grind, simple and stale. But deep in my mind, a dream was burning: living through, heart stripped bare, the Taklamakan's ocean of silence and Tibet's wind-carved plateaus.
The moment my flight from Europe touched down, I began turning that dream into reality. The road to aim was not easy as usual—letdowns and bitter letdowns, setbacks even deceived.
Despite a cycle of disappointment, I eventually made it with a few buddies who shared the same concrete desire. I thought that would be the end. Instead, the memories refused to stay confined to the grand Taklamakan or the vast Tibetan Plateau; they poured themselves onto the page and became these two books:
