This month marks the tenth anniversary of my first and last lecture. In April 2007 I was invited by Students in Design at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO to give a presentation. In conjunction I held an epic art exhibition composed of pretty much everything I’d made in my first five years of operation as DJG Design (Or, whatever we could haul in a Kia Rio from Kansas City, MO). Let’s just say it was a lot to tackle and downward spiraled me a great deal for a season. Despite my doubts, some say it went well. (Thank you.) Regardless, this was a one-off special event for me and I’m happy it was at the great place where I learned a few things (and in the very auditorium where I once snored through history of design lectures). I thank them for the opportunity. So, I’ll commemorate by sharing a chronology of some of my lecture slides. These being from birth (1979) to leaving college (2001). I have since exchanged my design umbrella and odyssey for one of an artist. But, occasionally I design-dabble when the voices and visuals strike. And I’m still pleased with the way these slide visuals turned out. Oh, and here’s the poster co-designed and put to letterpress by my old friend Doug Wilson.
