Space camp. It was long ever since she’d been there and still, she’d never forgotten about it, or her. They’d been young, they’d only known each other for the extend of a full week, but Mycka had probably never grown so close to someone in such a fast rate. Hiding out in space ships, staying up all night roaming the halls, building a spaceship model together. A few years later, Mycka visited Salem during the summer holiday on a family trip. And then they never saw each other again.
A lot had changed since then. Her love for space and science made place for the life she was born into; a military life. She enrolled, she got sent away, her mother died, she came back. And now she was on base close to where Salem grew up, to help with a maintenance problem on one of the choppers she fixed. She didn’t expect to see Salem, but she’d thought about her.
Sitting there with her fingers curled around a glass of scotch, it took her two takes to figure out who was sitting further up at the bar. Mycka shared a table at the back with a few soldiers until she realized why the other looked so familiar. She got up from her chair and left her mates to approach the bar. She ordered a drink, leaned on the bar and gestured for a refill for the woman besides her. “Didn’t think i’d see you again” She said, a crooked smile on her face as she took the drink and turned her head to Salem. “How have you been?”
