Happy Pride, from my legacy family to yours! ❤️💛💚💙💜
Not me getting all the darn feels about finding the Quick Legacy heirs and heiresses in my saved sims folder! 🥺
Have some fun screenshots of each heir and heiress! I love seeing how the genes have carried down the line!
Who’s going to be our next heir or heiress? Only time will tell!
(And this marks the end of generation four!
Whew…I never thought we’d get to this point. I’m so sorry that Desiree’s generation has been the longest in my legacy thus far. The pandemic, a lack of creativity and too much stress irl took a lot out of me this year.
I think it’s evident that I haven’t overly enjoyed this generation. It’s been very hard to write a negative character who at points is capable of redemption, then at others a complete lost cause. Desiree was built around an old friend who I have cut ties with. There are a lot of parallels between our friendship to the way that Desiree treats others. I hope that the path I’ve chosen for her - not quite a redemption arc, because I’m not sure that she deserves one - will be accepted by everyone as the challenge goes forward.
I’ll list Desiree’s completed generation goals below. Then, it’s time to jump into generation five with our next heir - Leo!

Windenburg, Windenburg Island ~
Mira: “Please don’t say it…”
Desiree swallows hard, leaning back enough to look into Mira’s eyes. She bites down on her lower lip, tears welling in her own eyes. It shouldn’t have taken this long for her to have these realisations. She should have taken accountability for her actions sooner and tried her best to mend them. But, her pride and selfishness got in the way. Now, she has to deal with the consequences. But, there is one person she can help before she truly damages them.
Desiree: “I love you, Mira. I always will. You’re the only sim who I have ever, truly loved. That will never change, b -“
Mira: “Don’t…don’t say but. I’m sorry. I’m sorry for the mistakes I made. I’m sorry I didn’t chase you. I’m sorry that I -“
Desiree: “You don’t need to apologise, Mira. You have nothing to feel sorry for. I am truly sorry for making you feel like you need my forgiveness. This…this has all been my doing. And I…”
Desiree falters. Tears are streaming down Mira’s face now. They both know what she is about to say. They both know it’s the right thing to do, but also a heart wrenching choice.
Desiree: “I…I can’t keep you waiting for me. You deserve more. You deserve better. I…I want a divorce.”
Mira looks stunned, hurt and terrified. With the words spoken, all that Desiree and Mira can do is collapse into each other’s arms in tears.
Hours later, Desiree and Mira finally part for the last time.
They have spoken about a lot of things - division of property, emotional support and smooth transition for the family following their decision. Both of them are absolutely devastated, but know that they have made the decision for the right reasons. Desiree needs to be single and work on all of the sims she has hurt, then focus on herself. Mira needs to be truly loved and supported.
The weather gets warmer, like the world is feeling right for the first time in a long while. Desiree folds her arms over her chest as she watches Mira walk away. She desperately wants to run after her and tell her she’s made a mistake. Mistakes are common in Desiree’s world, but this is the first time that she knows she is doing the right thing. Folding her arms and planting her feet firmly on the ground stop her from running after her…ex wife. That’s so painful to say.
Desiree turns her back, unable to look at the devastated slump in Mira’s shoulders. They will speak again, very soon in fact, as they need to talk about Bellatrix moving in with Mira.
Life has been a rollercoaster for Desiree Quick. A lot of the turbulences have been caused by her pride and selfish actions. She hopes that by letting Mira go, she’s on the right path to fix things for the better.
It’s the middle of the night! What is all this noise?
Leo wakes up with a groan, rubbing his eyes against the gloom of his bedroom. Thunder rumbles outside, heavy rain tapping incessantly at the windows. They haven’t seen a storm this violent in Newcrest throughout the whole of summer. It is approaching autumn, so storms should be expected, but...
Desiree: “You’ll never apologise for anything, but constantly keep rebelling against me. What have I done to you that’s so -”
Oh...that’s what all of the noise is about. Leo sighs and shuffles across the bed, fumbling to turn his bedside table lamp on. All the lights in his bedroom come on, causing him to curse aloud. He is hoping that his mother has not seen that the argument has woken him up, which will add further fuel to the argument.
He quietly gets up and heads to his bedroom door, peering through the glass panels down the hallway to the living room. As expected, his younger siblings did sneak out to a party at Foxbury University. He tried everything he could to keep their mother occupied and not notice in case the twins did sneak out, but she must have stayed up when he went to bed.
He does not know how she knew something was up, but nothing gets past their mother, Desiree...
Desiree reaches out, holding her hand towards Mira. Her estranged wife takes her hand without hesitation. Desiree guides her out of the chair and to a quiet spot beneath a large tree.
Desiree: “Perhaps I have, Mira. Perhaps I have.”
Mira looks uneasy, her eyes scanning Desiree’s face as she links their hands together. Desiree doesn’t meet her gaze, just watching as her thumb grazes over the back of Mira’s right hand. She’s looking for the reason for the sudden change in Desiree’s expression. She doesn’t know about all of the moments that have cultivated for the final awakening within her.
Mira: “Desi…”
Desiree: “I can’t keep running, Mira. Look at what I’ve done. I’ve hurt Bellatrix. I’ve scared off Leo. I’ve shattered Ori. I’ve hurt and used you. My siblings have been far too tolerant with me. The problem is me, Mira. It’s me. It’s always been me.”
Mira: “I…”
Mira’s eyes glisten with tears, her jaw slack as she looks deeply into Desiree’s eyes. She sees determination fighting through years of inflated pride and selfishness. She sees…finality.
There’s no hesitation at all when Desiree leans in. In fact, Mira doesn’t know who kisses the other first. Desiree and Mira kiss passionately until they become one sim. The moments draw on, longingly lingering, until they have to break apart for air.
