My desk has to serve my purposes. Writing desk, drawing table, computer desk, and some times dining table, (I have a real desire to avoid folding TV diner tables *shudders*) Each incarnation uses tools, ( there are no utensils or plates, just cups with lids) and they have a place on the desk. The container of thumb drives is a reservoir of digitized drawings and paintings, written works, important papers and so on. These thumbdrives have been gathered through space and time.
