why is your blog name “desmour-marks”?
Short answer: desmour is the name of the tattoos in my novel, given they aren’t exactly tattoos.
Long answer: If you read this post: https://desmour-marks.tumblr.com/post/172279817063/inspiration-for-nanowrimo-2016 you know that the AU for my novel has tattoos in it. I wanted to create a new word for them, since they aren’t made of ink. After playing with some word generators that mash together two words, I got the word “desmour” from “destiny” and “amour”, the french word for love.
It’s pronounced “dess-more”, “dess-moor”, “dez-more”, or “dez-moor”
So, in this AU, when you fall in love, you get that person’s desmour mark somewhere on your body.
