INVITED // CRUSHED ICE: refreshing cooling desserts made for summer! We got to try the following during a recent visit to @dessertgardenau in Northbridge: Holiday Special Edition (until end of Feb; comes with lychee jelly and a choice of fruit: mango/strawberry/watermelon; suitable for vegans) - Grape Tea Crushed Ice with mango $10.50 - Lychee Tea Crushed Ice with strawberry $10.50 Drinks: - Fresh Watermelon Slushy $8.50 with crystal jelly (add $1), 50% sugar - Winter Melon Tea with fresh lemon $7 and herbal jelly (add $1) The crushed ice desserts have their home-made jasmine tea base and are strong in tea flavour. The ice is finely crushed and makes for a light dessert after dinner. We loved the grape tea crushed ice. The lychee one was nice too but more tannic in taste. There’s free white sugar syrup for those who would like it sweeter (we didn’t need this as the crushed ice combined with lychee jelly and fresh fruits were sweet enough imo). Such a god-send for this sweltering heatwave we’ve been having. Loved both the drinks which we took home. The watermelon slushy has a jasmine tea base which was very fragrant. 50% sweetness was just right for me and the crystal jelly paired perfectly. Winter melon tea with fresh lemon and herbal jelly was such a refreshing drink too and brings back childhood memories.
