And now a commission from Destiel!
I’m a day late (because I am injured but found a way to draw that doesn’t cause agony, yay!), but here’s Captain Highliner Dean and Sushi!Cas (as styled in Mal’s fab FOOW) because I LIVE for merAUs, even though I’m in the minority.
You can read a tiny tiny ficlet that goes with it if you like Castch of the Day :D (Warning for strong language.)
(Don’t repost).
Of course, she made some gorgeous cowboy pics.
Brokeback Mountain style.
More love to you babe!! @pixiereedus
Babysitting and Pizzamanning
Calm down, calm down, calm down!
Who was that even directed to? Castiel? Or the infant in his arms?
Castiel continued to cradle the baby, bouncing slightly as he shifted weight from one hip to the other, to an inaudible rhythm. Gia, Nora's daughter, and his charge for the night, cried, unaffected by his many efforts to make her stop.
Why isn't she calming down!? Could something be wrong?
Castiel had just changed her diaper, and they'd already had dinner, and Gia had been enthusiastic about the mush-up Nora had left behind with instructions.
The day wasn't too cold, and it wasn't too hot. She seemed fine before, too - though the pink of her cheeks now was probably to be attributed to the continuous crying, rather than good health.
Shouldn't get tensed around the baby, Cas. Shouldn't, at all.
But, sweaty and exhausted, as Castiel sighed nervously at the infant in his arms - he knew he wasn't abiding by the commands given by the voice of reason, in his head. How could he not worry? The baby just wouldn't sleep - he'd tried all, from singing, to talking to her, and was back to bouncing on his heels. It was clearly his prime failure as a babysitter, not to mention, it incessantly worried him that something was not right.
Shouldn't get tensed! Everything is fine! You just suck at making her go to sleep! Stop worrying - the baby will sense it, and not stop crying! Don't get tensed!
How could he not?
Think about something else!
And this time, Castiel listened - hurriedly escaping to one of his favorite avenues of thought - Dean Winchester. The man who was perhaps the most perfect part of his life, somehow, his boyfriend too.
It was always surreal thinking of that, but god, Castiel loved the sheer joy which surged through him on thinking of Dean Winchester.
Maybe it's working! The baby just stopped fidgeting!
Okay, then. More thinking of Dean. Huh. Not gonna be a problem.
Of course, there was a certain smidge of worry associated with Dean too, these days. The 18-year-old may have been a Senior, like Castiel - but he worked a helluva lot more. While all the work Castiel did, was things that could earn him credit on college applications - Dean Winchester, son of John Winchester, worked to earn, for himself and his brother. More so, than usual - because John had disappeared again, and his brother was about to start highschool, and that meant a lot more spending, and Castiel knew that Dean held himself responsible for everything Sam Winchester related.
So, Castiel may babysit, because Nora's friends with his dad, but Dean had a variety of jobs, and had 14 hour days, most days of the month and it sucked, in all regards.
The baby may have stopped crying, but you're beginning to get tensed again, and you know what happens then!
Babysitting was not simply a favor. It was an entire psychological enigma, and a challenge of emotions, complete with the threat of the baby crying for what seems like forever if you're responsible for her, if he deflected from his mission.
Okay, then. Not-worrying things about Dean. There were plenty of those, too. He could think of their kisses, the really soft ones, and the against-the-wall ones - that one time in the cafeteria as a gesturical-middle-finger to the homophobic cheerleader, and all of those sneaky, silent ones, which probably he liked best.
But again, 'kissing his boyfriend' wasn't exactly the kind of thinking he needed to be doing, with a silent, sniffling baby in his arms.
Wait. She's gone silent. She's almost still.
"Is Gia sleepy?" He cooed to her, hopefully.
She gurgled incoherently in response, but no. That meant yes, Castiel was pretty sure. Also, his arms were tired for now, and he could just put her in her cradle for once - if need be, he'd pick her up again and do the bounce-her-around-while-thinking-of-Dean thing, he may be good at, considering it brought such a quick result.
"So, I'm gonna put you to bed, okay?" He continued to tell her exactly what he was doing, in his most calming baby-voice, trying hard to keep her as still and probably asleep, as she was. "And Gia's going to go to sleep, right? And Cas will sit down, and hope Gia stays asleep, won't he? And you're going to sleep real nice, alright? G'night, Gia, and sweet dreams, okay?" He finished tucking her in, pulling the little blanket up to her neck, and letting out a sigh as he staggered backwards to the couch and landed with a soundless motion.
The baby-voice sucks - you think it means speaking in third person and adding question tags everywhere, but it's more than that. You do not know how to speak to a baby.
Whatever. Clearly, Gia didn't mind enough to wake up, so he didn't care.
Phew!
Just when Cas was about to bring out his phone, and maybe have a little time to himself - that meant texting Dean, mostly, even though Dean'd probably be too engaged to reply to Cas - the doorbell rang.
Cas glanced at the clock, and no, it wasn't time for Nora to have returned at all. Who else could it be?
He walked to the door, careful not to step too loud - babysitting is not child play, remember? - and looked through the eyehole.
"We didn't order any pizza -" He started, opening the door after catching glimpse of the person's hat.
"How about me, though?" And there was a toothy grin, followed by Dean lifting the hat from his face to meet Cas's eyes. "Any chance you ordered your really sexy boyfriend, with a side of he-fulfils-all-my-kinks?"
"What the hell are you talking about?" Cas laughed, pleased to see Dean, as he always is. He pulled Dean into a one-armed hug, and Dean pressed his lips to Cas's neck, and a shudder went through him. "Dean." Cas warned, biting his lip, to keep from smiling too hard - because Dean was here, and kissing him wherever he was allowed, and it was one of the best moods he'd found him lately.
"What, I can't kiss you now?" Dean feigned taking offense. "After I show up here, like this, I don't even get to -"
And Dean may have kept on speaking, but Cas stopped listening.
The dots connected.
Jesus Christ.
The pizzaman and the babysitter. One of the most spectacular moments in their relationship had been when Dean discovered that Cas was watching porn next to him, as he finished up his calculus. It'd been closer to the start of their relationship. He'd looked at Cas like he made no sense, muttered something about not watching porn in a room with another guy, and kissed him silly. But Cas had had no idea he'd remembered.
"...I guess we can finally answer why the pizzaman kept slapping the babysitter's 'rear', though he truly loved her." Dean quoted, mockingly, and Cas broke into a chuckle. "Probably because even after the pizzaman came all the way to the other end of town for the babysitter, after a really long day of a lot of crap, the babysitter wouldn't even let him kiss his neck."
"How are you this great?" Cas mumbled, having run out of words.
Dean rubbed the back of his neck, looking at his feet. "Nevermind all that, Cas. You tell me, how does it feel to be living your porn fantasy -"
"- its not, it just happened to be on -"
"- shuddup, I know this is your secret, wet dream material." Dean teased, leaning in. "But, tell me, though. How turned on are you on a scale from 0 to 10?"
"2, and I feel guilty." Cas threw back, still grinning so hard that it could've physically hurt his face. "I'm babysitting, Dean. And this isn't pornography, though you tried to make it like one and I love you for that, so I can't afford to forget about Gia."
Cas took half a step inside, and Dean looked visibly subdued.
"I -" He let out, in a small voice.
"You did not think this through..?" Cas helped, apologetic, and feeling disappointed himself. Because damn, Dean seemed to be in a total mood. And Cas was, after all, a human teenager in love with him.
"Yeah, no, of course not," Dean huffed. "I know, we can't have s-e-x around a baby."
Cas couldn't help reaching out and cupping Dean's face, and pulling it slightly down to comfortably fit their lips together. "That reminds me of Joey Tribbiani, and you're - awesome, Dean. I don't know, thanks for doing this."
"Though it sucked, in the end." Dean sighed, and suddenly, how tired he was began to be apparent. He was practically slumping, and there were clear dark circles under his eyes - way more prominent than they'd been in the day, at school.
"No, it didn't." Cas objected, furrowing his eyebrows. "Hey, Dean, I have sort of an idea. We obviously cannot," he lowered his voice, with a grin. "Have sex, but you could probably stay. I could ask Nora if I can have a friend over."
"'Gas 'N Sip' Nora?" Dean confirmed. Small town benefits. "Oh, her? Yeah, she likes me. Gives discounts on crap, just because." He smiled, but it was almost forced. Oh, Dean was so exhausted. Cas felt a pang of hurt. "I'm sorta a regular, so -"
"Perfect. I'll text her. She didn't mind the last time, so she really couldn't mind this time either." Cas beamed at him, hiding his worry at Dean's manner. "Come on in. Gia is in the first bedroom on the left, so we'll have to stay there too."
"Thanks," Dean added, after he'd planted another chaste kiss on Castiel's lips, and followed his instructions to go in. Cas heard what he didn't say, but implied. Thanks for not making me go back to my part of town alone, right now.
He worked so hard, Cas awedly thought to himself, as he leaned against the closed door, and typed in a message to Nora.
Seeing the opportunity, he also slipped in a 'Gia is asleep now, but she cried a lot earlier. If you say a doctor is necessary, I can take her. Dean knows Dr. Singer personally.' Satisfied, he walked back to the bedroom.
So what if they hadn't been able to do anything right now? They had the rest of the night to. Nora would be back in a couple of hours. Cas could insist that Dean didn't need to take the bus, and offer to spend the night together at his house.
Then, they could -
But, oh.
Dean was already asleep.
The room was quite empty of furniture except for Gia's cradle and a single couch, and both the baby and his boyfriend lay peacefully asleep on them respectively.
Something inside him melted into a fuzzy warm feeling, as he looked at Dean, snoring slightly, and very asleep for so little time. But then the voice in his head, which was most often, if not always, Dean's, resounded.
Don't watch over people who're sleeping, Cas. That's creepy.
So, Castiel obeyed, and went over to the kitchen, with a smile dangling from his lips, to prepare microwave some of the food Nora left for him - and since she'd given him permission to use her stuff (by which she meant television and WiFi probably, but Cas would extend it to kitchen articles) he began to prepare grilled cheese for his very cheesy boyfriend.
Nor that he'd watched the video many times, or anything, but he was pretty sure it didn't involve the pizzaman falling asleep next to the baby, and looking like the most adorable person to ever exist.
But hey, everyone has their own stories. Every babysitter has their own pizzaman.

The In-between
Okay, this has a sort of slow start, but I kind of love it. Please give it a chance and leave comments. <3<3<3
Dim grey moonlight sunk in between the half open windows as Castiel laid on the shaggy carpet of a low-star hotel room. He stared out of the window at the abyss that nightfall brought and felt a sadness he’d never experienced.
The angel had previously never minded being alone, until “alone” meant being away from Dean Winchester. And now “alone” had a whole new and unique ache, as it had escalated into Castiel being lonely while in Dean’s presence. That was a different color of torture altogether.
The angel scrubbed his hands down his face weakly and rubbed his weary eyes.
He’d been laying in that exact spot for over three hours, contemplating his in-between feelings. He was in-between needing to maintain the deepest friendship he’d ever known, and needing Dean’s passionate love. He was nearly positive he couldn’t have both, but he was on the verge of an emotional breakdown, and knew he had to tell Dean.
Castiel was surprisingly calm since he had resolved that the hunter must know, although an occasional tear ran down his face as he wondered how to even begin to tell Dean how he felt. Castiel was prepared for complete rejection, but a part of him needed that rejection—so that he could put the all-consuming love he felt for the hunter away in a secret box inside himself and never re-visit it again. He was willing to be hurt if that meant he could move on.
How an angel of the Lord could fall in love was beyond Castiel’s understanding. He couldn’t explain the ins and outs of the emotions he felt for Dean. He had ceased to even care. Somethings, he had learned, were simply out of the realm of his control.
Castiel waited until the moon turned into a rising sun before he got up and packed his few belongings to head back to the bunker. He’d successfully closed a case that had proven to be un-supernatural. He was ready to be back “home” and back with his friends again. At the same time, his heart felt heavy in the face of having to do what simply must be done. Before he could mull over it for one more second, his wings came out and, in an instant, he zapped back to the kitchen of the bunker.
He was greeted by Dean, who was stirring his morning coffee. Dean took his luggage and set it aside for him. Castiel gave a weak, defeated smile as he observed how kind Dean was. This was just one of the many reasons the angel loved him.
Although gruff, Dean was benevolent and protective towards those he cared for. He was especially protective over Castiel himself.
“It wasn’t one of our cases at all” Castiel told Dean, as they both plopped down at the table in opposing chairs.
“A waste of time, eh?” Dean asked, and Castiel shook his head yes.
“Only the human monsters this time. The local police had it under control within a few hours.”
“Huh,” Dean huffed.
“Why’d you stay gone all night, then?”
There he was—the protective Dean.
“I was just having some down time. Doing some thinking.”
Dean raised his eyebrows.
“Since when do you need down time, Cas?”
Castiel was purely exhausted and didn’t have the nerve to explain himself. He shrugged and ignored the question.
“I know what it was.” Dean said in a playfully cocky way.
“You just couldn’t stop thinking about me and needed some ‘alone time’, am I right?” His perfectly arched eyebrows wiggled up and down.
A part of Castiel hated Dean for his flirtatious ways. He hated Dean for letting him think he had a chance at anything other than friendship with him.
“Dean, Dean, Dean.” The dark haired angel said seriously, shaking his head back and forth.
Dean cocked his head at Castiel and waited for what was to come next.
The two looked at each other in a moment of silence. Castiel didn’t know if he had the nerve to say a word more to Dean.
Dean then asked what was wrong with him.
Suddenly Castiel heard everything he felt flowing out of his mouth in all the wrong ways.
“You, Dean. You are what is wrong with me.”
Dean jerked his head back and threw his hands up.
“What in the hell did I do to you?” He asked defensively.
“You exist.” Castiel said, shocked at how bluntly his words came out, but finding nothing else inside himself to cushion what he had to say. Frustration and weariness had worn him to the bone.
“Excuse me, Cas, but just who in the fuck do you think you’re talking to?”
The angel had imagined a million times over how he’d tell the hunter that he loved him in more than a friendly way, and none of those instances started like this.
Castiel took a deep breath, formed small fists, and eyed Dean. Both men were now standing with the table between them.
Dean had a baffled look on his face.
“You exist to torture me, Dean.” Castiel said lowly as he looked away.
“Cas, you’re going to have to do better than this, because I’m not entirely sure what’s going through that angel mind of yours, but it doesn’t look like I’m the one being a jackass here.”
Castiel knew Dean was right, but logic wouldn’t settle into his mind.
“Fuck off, Dean.” Castiel said in a tone that didn’t seem to belong to him.
“No, Cas. You fuck off, coming at me like I’ve done something to you when I haven’t even seen you for two days.”
Dean snapped his fingers at Castiel.
“Snap out of it and tell me what the hell the issue is!”
“Shut up!”
Castiel could feel his heart throbbing in his ears, as he boiled with frustration. He tweaked his hand towards Dean and, without actually touching him, forced him lightly against the wall and held him there.
“You better let me go right now, you little bitch!”
“I’m not a bitch, I’m the best friend you have.”
“Maybe I’m missing something here, but friends don’t usually throw me against walls with their superhuman angel powers. And when you let me go, I’m gonna beat your ass.” Dean’s voice had gravel and grit and everything threatening in it.
“If I don’t keep you in spot, you won’t listen.”
“I’m not gonna listen to a fugging word you have to say while I’m pinned up here!” Dean yelled at the angel. “Let. Me. Down. NOW!”
Castiel released his hold and Dean came at him, grabbing him by the shoulders and trapping him against the opposite wall that he had been pinned to. Castiel’s mess of unruly black hair fell in his face as his back hit the wall harder than Dean had probably intended. Dean was in Castiel’s personal space, screaming at him and demanding he say what was wrong. Castiel got the strength to shove Dean away from him and get out of the position he was stuck in. Dean’s face was red with anger as they both locked eyes warily. Castiel didn’t know if he was about to punch Dean, or get punched by Dean.
Hot tears began to emerge from Castiel’s eyes, against his will. Dean’s face softened when he saw the stream flowing down Castiel’s cheeks. “Just… Tell me what’s wrong. Whatever it is, we’ll fix it.”
“I’M IN LOVE YOU.” Castiel screamed between gritted teeth at Dean, his head pounding and ears ringing.
Dean’s face fell and all of the fight he had in him seemed to wilt.
“You stupid, stupid son of a bitch.” Dean said in a low tone.
The hunter shook his head and looked Castiel up and down.
Castiel felt vulnerability and defeat wash over him.
“Yes, I know I’m stupid.” He said with a cracked voice. A rush of pink covered his face as he cleared his throat.
“I have nothing else to say.” He stated flatly and began to walk away.
“Get your ass back over here, you angelic, cowardly son of a bitch.” Dean yelled at Castiel’s back.
Castiel paused and looked over his shoulder at Dean, who was breathing heavily with a sort of panicked look on his face.
“So much for being best friends, I guess.” Castiel said, slumping away.
He could hear Dean’s stomping footsteps behind him, but continued to his room.
He considered coasting away to be alone, but the bunker had become his home just as much as it was Dean’s and Sam’s.
He went as far as his bedroom door and turned to look at Dean. His expression was unreadable.
Castiel slammed the door in Dean’s face.
He sat on the edge of his bed, his veins tingling in numb shock at what he’d just let happen.
The angel didn’t realize that he’d neglected to lock the door until Dean burst in.
“Since when do angel’s cry?” Dean demanded.
Castiel didn’t feel like speaking to Dean in that moment, but couldn’t seem to tell him to leave.
“It’s possible. Living with you and Sam on this earth for so many years has humanized me and—”
“Made you vulnerable?” Dean finished his sentence for him.
“It would appear that way.” Castiel stared at the floor.
“What do you want, Dean?” I know how you feel. I knew it would be a disaster to tell you.” Castiel heaved a great sigh.
“Just leave me be.”
“Castiel, you listen to me.” Dean took a serious tone.
“I really wish you’d just let me be alone in my bad spirits.” Castiel tried again.
“Welp, I’m sorry, but I’m not going anywhere. Unless you want to pull that angel mojo on me again.”
“Whatever.”
Castiel bit his bottom lip, trying to get the leaking from his eyes to subside and hating himself for ever thinking that his confession could turn out to be anything but traumatic.
“You’re like a pouting little teenage girl, you know that?”
Castiel glared at Dean.
“Why won’t you just get out?” Castiel pleaded with him, not wanting to be this pathetic in front of anyone, especially Dean.
“Because, this isn’t over.”
“What isn’t over? There was never anything to be over. I love you, you love women. I’m a non-mortal freak. It’s all simple enough.”
“Ok, Cas, now you’re just being dramatic.” Dean said with a hint of a snarky tone.
He moved closer to Castiel’s bed, knelt down in front of the tearful angel and wiped the back of his hand down one cheek, trying to soothe the droplets away.
“Why are you so mad at me, Cas?” Dean asked with furrowed brows.
“I’m not even mad.” Castiel admitted.
Dean stared at him. “So, you confess your feelings like that and then we’re good?”
“No, we’re not good. We’ll never be good.”
“Why’s that?”
“Because, you’ll never feel the same, and my feelings will never change.” Castiel stated firmly, looking regretfully into Dean’s eyes.
“Ok, Angel. Number one, YOU have no idea how I feel. I assume you haven’t been frolicking around in my thoughts and dreams, am I right?” Castiel tried to answer no, but Dean cut him off.
“Eh Eh Eh.” Dean chided, as if trying to stop a dog from indulging in a bad habit. It made Castiel shut up immediately. He sat on his bed looking forlorn and red eyed.
“See, you may have feelings, but you still have no communication skills.” Dean began light heartedly.
“And you do?” The angel bit back.
“Because the last time I checked, you couldn’t be honest about your feelings for one single damn day.”
Dean looked offended.
“You wanna know how I feel, Cas?” Dean asked, a hint of danger in his voice.
“Sure.” Castiel said lamely, looking away and expecting insults.
Instead of an insult, or any words at all, for the matter, Dean was suddenly pushing Castiel on to his back. For a moment Castiel feared that Dean was giving in to violent tendencies.
He felt his stomach flip as a portion of Dean’s weight landed on top of him. Dean’s hands were tight around Castiel’s wrists, holding him in place. Dean moved swiftly to straddle the angel, whose mind was spiraling with the question of whether or not to fight the hunter off.
Dean’s face was inches from Castiel. The angel’s heartbeat was uneven as Dean’s lips moved so close to his that he felt the air from his breath when he spoke.
“You want the truth?”
Castiel didn’t make a sound, but minutely nodded his head ‘yes’.
“Truth!?” He repeated harshly, pinning Castiel’s wrists harder into the bed. He was somehow even closer now, so that Castiel could almost feel his friend’s lips move on his.
Castiel gave another slight nod, refusing to look at Dean, until Dean demanded that he do so.
Uncertainty floated in the air thickly as Castiel shrunk under Dean’s weight. He obeyed and wantonly gazed into Dean’s heavily dilated eyes.
“I’m not going to hurt you, Cas.” Dean whispered.
Although that was reassuring, Castiel’s breathing was heavier than he could ever remember it being, with feelings coursing through his body that he’d only ever imagined before.
“What’s the truth?” Castiel questioned lowly with every ounce of courage he possessed.
“I think you’re a stupid son of a bitch for not telling me sooner.” Dean finally answered.
Dean loosened his grip on Castiel’s wrists, raising up slightly on one arm to run a hand through Castiel’s dark hair, then cradled his head in his hand. Castiel looked up with vivid wide eyes at the man he so desperately desired, with something akin to panic threatening his heaving body.
Dean lifted Castiel’s head and lowed his own, touching his lips against his shaking friend.
The kiss was a quick one. Dean pulled back. He narrowed his eyes down at Castiel.
“You know how to kiss, right, Cas?” Dean had disbelief in his tone and a raised left eyebrow.
Castiel stared silently at his friend for a solid 15 seconds.
“Dean, I don’t even know if I have any blood flowing into my brain at this very moment.”
“You know where all that blood goes, right?”
Castiel gave Dean a deer-in-the-headlights expression. Dean smirked, showing a flash of sharp canine teeth, and before he could respond to the smart mouthed question, Dean fished his hands down Castiel’s chest, and stopped no further than to feel the hardness that he had through his trousers. Castiel’s lower body did a needy sort of reverse flinch into Dean’s hands.
“Slow down, Cowboy,” Dean said with a crooked grin.
A mixture of the heat of raging hormones and the sting of embarrassment danced inside Castiel’s body, forcing his feelings onto his face in a flush.
Castiel’s mouth gapped open slightly as he tried hard to remember how to breathe. Dean took this opportunity to kiss his friend properly. He steadied himself and put both of his calloused hands around Castiel’s cheeks. He slipped his tongue between Castiel’s split lips, and the angel panted into Dean’s mouth helplessly as he tried to follow the hunter’s moves to the best of his ability. His tongue cautiously grazed Dean’s.
Dean, being Dean, took lead of the situation, guiding Castiel’s tongue in what felt like a serene sort of slow dance inside his mouth. Castiel finally felt the closeness he had yearned so terribly for.
Castiel thought that, between the thumping of his heart and the throbbing in his now uncomfortably tight trousers, he was going to explode right then and there.
“Shh…Calm down…” Dean said faintly in a raspy tone that Castiel had never heard from him, even in his drunken flirtations of days gone by.
Castiel was unassuming and meek. He vaguely began to wonder why Dean was doing this.
Surely he didn’t have the same effect on Dean as Dean had on him.
However, Dean continued and when he broke the kiss to move his attention to Castiel’s neck, Castiel quickly forgot what he was wondering.
Without giving himself permission to do so, a gasp escaped Castiel’s mouth, and his whole body rose up to collide with Dean’s. He was out of his mind, out of control, and out of breath.
Dean made a slow lick from Castiel’s Adam’s apple all the way up to his earlobe and then paused to make eye contact again.
When Castiel tried to focus on Dean’s pool of green eyes that only shone as bright as the antique light in his room with a 20watt bulb would allow, the hunter looked fuzzy.
“Cas…You okay?” He traced his fingertips down Castiel’s lips.
“I never knew…You’re so gentle.”
Castiel felt as though he couldn’t find any words in his vocabulary to express what he was trying to convey.
“What’d you expect?” Dean asked perplexedly.
“For you to punch me in the face.”
Dean chuckled nervously.
“I doubt that’s what you wanted, though.”
Dean allowed a small opening of space between them.
Castiel gave a nod of agreement.
“You never thought I might feel some sort of way toward you, Cas?” Dean said, climbing off of Castiel and laying down on his back beside his him, taking a deep breath of his own. He adjusted a noticeable bulge in his blue jeans and Castiel felt a dash of happiness surge through his chest.
“All those flirtations weren’t always made as a joke.” He confessed with closed eyes.
Castiel propped up on his right elbow to face Dean.
“So you wanted this?”
Dean laughed with wholesomeness and flattened a palm against his forehead.
“I just raped you with my mouth. What do you think?”
Castiel crooked his head to one side and studied the hunter’s face. Dean gazed at him with a small smile on his lips. Slowly, Castiel smiled back.
“Get the fuck over here, Cas.”
A short destiel fic:
~He loves me, he loves me not~
He had know Castiel for ten years. They had stood together, through thick and thin, for a decade. The idea that someone could possibly care enough about him to do something like that baffled Dean, for no one ever had before. Not until Cas at least. That angel was nothing if not loyal. And over the past couple of months, and if he was being completely honest, the past couple of years, Dean had been slowly started to realize his feelings for the angel. It had taken ages of denial and self hatred, after-all, what would his Dad think about him being bisexual? But after an unexpected encounter with his old man, back from the dead, Dean realized that all John Winchester would want for him is to be happy. So with that, his internal homophobia ended, and his strong feelings for Cas grew. He’d lie awake at night thinking of his angel, and though Dean wanted to, he felt like he could never tell Castiel about the things his heart was showing him. No, it would be far too dangerous. I cannot risk breaking up the only family I have left over a crush, Dean scolded. But that didn’t mean he couldn’t think about what being with Castiel would be like. So he resorted to this, these games of teenagers.
He took a deep breath, removing one of his hands from the stem to pick a petal off the white flower. “He loves me,” Dean started as the petal he was pulling came free. “He loves me not,” He continued as he removed another. Dean went on like this, plucking all the petals off the flower until he was down to the final three. “He loves me,” Dean breathed, “He loves me not.” One petal now remained. Just as Dean was about to finish his game, a man, or rather angel, in a trench coat appeared beside him. “What the hell, Cas!” He shouted. “Give a guy a warning before you zap in!” But Castiel wasn’t listening. Instead, he was staring at the nearly petalless flower. “C-Cas,” Dean began. “It’s not what-“ He was cut off by the angel reaching down to pull the last petal off the daisy.
“He loves me,” Castiel whispered, face now inches from Dean’s. A blush spread rapidly across Dean’s freckle stained face, and his heartbeat quickened. Cas grinned, reaching out to Dean, grabbing him, and pulling them together for a kiss. When they broke apart, the pair laughed, resting their foreheads against one another, Cas gripping Dean’s face. The boys turned, looking like deer in headlights when they heard heavy footsteps approaching. It was Sam, body leaning against a tall, sturdy tree, grin plastered across his face.
“Took you two long enough. I was damn tired of watching all the pining and brooding the both of you do over each other.” Both Dean and Cas looked shocked, surprised that Sam had noticed. Quickly recovering, they both grumbled in unison,
“Shut up, Sam.”
“Yeah, yeah, I’ll leave you to it, but we need to head out in an hour or two. Caught wind of a case up in Minnesota.” Sam finished, pushing himself off the tree and walking back to the bunker.
“Where were we?” Dean flirted, still high from the feeling of Castiel’s lips on his.
“I seem to remember that we were kissing, at least before Sam interrupted,” Castiel responded, confusion tinting his voice.
“Exactly,” Dean winked before leaning in, and initiating another mind boggling kiss, setting their faces on fire.
I like you ~Destiel~
Ask anyone and they’d tell you the Dean Winchester was your typical straight jock. Ask them if he had ever had a crush on nerdy Castiel Novak and they’d simply laugh after asking who Castiel was.
But Dean had a secret that none of his idiotic classmates knew. Well, he actually had a few secrets. First, and probably most well buried, Dean Winchester was as gay as a rainbow slinky. Secondly, he had a massive crush on his quiet best friend, Cas. And by massive, he meant unable to look at anyone else, heart racing whenever Cas entered the room kinda big.
But thanks to his idiotic, homophobic teammates, Dean had spent the majority of his high school years hiding his crush. Until, that is, he found himself alone with Cas one afternoon. They had decided to hang out, considering they’d barely seen each other for the past two weeks, and ended up going to the movies to watch some action movie. Because that genre seemed better for a platonic ‘date’ out.
They were halfway through the movie when Cas casually rest his arm against Dean’s on the armrest. Dean tried to quash the racing butterflies, surely Cas didn’t mean to do that.
Then Cas slowly linked their pinkies and Dean blushed, glance at the other boy out the corner of his eye. Castiel seemed to be trying very hard to focus on the movie, and Dean noticed a small blush on Cas’s cheeks.
Biting his lip and hoping he’s read the situation right, Dean turns Cas’s hand over and entwines their fingers as causally as he could.
He could feel Cas’s eyes on him, and wills his blush away and he turns to face Cas.
Castiel just tilts his head, a small smile on his face as he holds Dean’s hand tighter and goes back to watching the movie.
After, they stayed quiet until they reached the Impala, blushing and still holding hands.
It was once they were sitting in the front seats that Dean blurted out oh so smoothly, “I like you.”
Cas blushes more, his blue eyes crinkled as he smiles. “I like you too.”
After that day, if you were to ask his classmates they’d tell you three things. First, Dean Winchester was hella gay. Secondly, Dean and Castiel were pretty much soulmates. Lastly, no one dared to pick on Cas and Dean’s relationship or Dean would kick their asses.
