2,7,8,12,16,34,38, and 39!!! I'm dying to know.
((I totally forgot than Blue reblogged that thing!!))
2. Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?
Poke: I really would like to try my hand at proper horror, though I know form a few halfhearted attempts I’m not very good at it.
Blue: I kind of want to try my hand at something ABO. I like it A WHOLE LOT about 40% of the time (because 60% of what's out there is really weird) So I kind of want to try it my own way.
7. Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
Poke: Hmm, nothing really jumps to mind. A few of the drabbles I did on my main blog the other day were good though. This is a total cop out, sorry!!
Blue: Wow this is hard. I think I'm really proud of the letter I had Mako write to Chuck for his birthday in the 4th chapter of my 5 times Pacific Rim fic. Mostly because I adore Mako and how she is sweet and fierce and kind and honorable and ready to be vicious and protective and writing their friendship was really hard for me. I feel like I got her voice right though.
8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
Poke: Ahh!! Okay I’m gonna have to go out of the SPN to answer this, but I do have an exchange that I enjoy.
“Hmph, a day or two being a god and you’re already bossy as hell,” Kurogane huffed, but complied anyway. The weakness in his limbs was something he would very much like to get rid of.His comment earned him a whack to the head, firm but still gentle. “It’s been a week,” he said, helping Kurogane pull off his robe. Then, as an after thought, he added. “And I am not bossy, now roll on to you stomach.”“No, not bossy at all,” Kurogane commented dryly as he moved.
Blue: Well it's sort of long to put here but it's from my Teen Wolf Stiles/Isaac fic Dating Doubled. It's just really fun to write them both being kind of dumb teenage boys
“I don’t hate you. No! I just… you really seemed to hate me before and I just thought…”
“You thought I’d invite someone I hated over my house and have no problem sharing my snacks with them and making out?” He wraps his hands around Isaac’s forearms, “I shared my Reeses with you, I definitely don’t hate you. What other people do you make out with that hate you? Because you should really stop doing that since I’m right here and I definitely don’t hate you.”
The kind of shy smile and the puppy eyes are a much better look on Isaac, “Because you want to be boyfriends?” This smile is way better than the smirk, also that is definitely a blush. Right, Stiles needs to answer.
“Yes. Boyfriends. Isn’t that what I asked?”
“You didn’t actually ask me to be your boyfriend. You asked if we were.”
12. Is there an episode above all others that inspires you just a little bit more?
Poke: Swan Song will always hurt my Samifer heart, but Sympathy for the Devil is another that I feel I fall back on for Lucifer characterization a lot.
Blue: I think about Mystery Spot a lot, because it shows how Sam breaks himself apart without Dean. How much he really needs support in his life because he's never really been completely alone before. Also It's a Terrible Life for the same reasons. How do they theoretically turn out when separated, Dean's the neurotic successful one there, why? And then there's Sin City, that conversation Dean had with the lady demon he was trapped with has always sort of gotten to me.
16. If you only could write one pairing for the rest of your life, which pairing would it be?
Poke: In the SPN fandom? Probably Charlie/Gilda or Anna/Ruby or Charlie/Jo or… you know what. My answer is femslash. The pairing femslash.
Blue: Wow... I just. idk. In SPN, probably Samifer because it's what comes easiest and feels the most natural to me (and Destiel is too oversaturated even though that also feels natural). In ALL the fandoms though, probably Chaleigh. There's just not enough Pacific Rim fic and 90% of it is AU when there's SO MUCH to play with in the 'verse.
34. What are your thoughts on non-con and dub-con?
Poke: My thoughts are “No.”
Blue: non-con is a NOPE for me, I won't even go near it. Dub-con is a maybe. It works for me in certain situations (ABO 'verses, arranged marriage with "obligations" where they're both too stupid to romance each other at first) it really depends on how it's handled.
38. Talk about a review that made your day.
Poke: I don’t have just one and I know this sounds cliche but really any time I log on to AO3 and see a comment in my inbox I’m filled to the brim with joy. I think my favorite ones though are the super excited, almost nonsensical reviews we get just screaming at us about what they liked best.
Blue: I have to say my favorites are the enthusiastic ones. Ones WITH ALL EXCITED CAPS and ones that address a particular thing that they loved. Like in HBA when people get excited over the other fandom references we slide in there or stupid little throwaway jokes we stick in a line. Also I have to admit I really thoroughly enjoyed all the comments we got after our horrifically cruel April Fools dream chapter. That was fun (I know, I'm awful)
39. Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them?
Poke: I don’t think we’ve ever gotten a rude comment on HBA (though I have gotten one or two on my works for other fandoms). Though, I think there was one person who was disgruntled about our 2013 April Fools chapter and didn’t think it was something we should have done. To which I still say - phooey!
Blue: I don't think I've ever gotten anything bad on anything in the SPN fandom. I think all the wank I've ever gotten has been from the Teen Wolf fandom. Probably because I refuse to acknowledge more than a few details after season 2 and like to make it up myself after that. Apparently people are offended by that sometimes. I always just ignore them though. There was one time were Poke decided to go defend my characterization of someong and that was sort of entertaining.
