Ok, I get that everything has to end at some point, but please not like this.
It may sound silly, it may seem like it's just a game, but it's more than a game to me and I'm sure many others. I was 9 when it first came out, though obviously I didn't play seriously then. I mostly just fucked around on my dad's account and played on his sparrow. I joined a VoG raid and did terribly on purpose because I thought it was funny. Destiny has been with me for my whole life essentially, and has been with me for my darkest moments when I felt so, so alone. I met my best friends there. My (now ex) partner was the same. It's my home and changed me in so many ways and now it feels like burying a parent.
I know I'd have to say goodbye someday, but not now and not like this. It was always good. It was always fun. Even the parts people shat on was still *good*. Destiny needs to stay alive. If not for the players who still want it, then at least to finish the story. Bungie had so many plans for another saga. Renegades is ending on a cliffhanger! They don't even need to abandon Marathon either. Why not just do what they did with Halo? Let Sony have control like how Activision does with Halo? Whatever happens, it needs to live.
Whoever doesn't know of the petition, sign and/or share it and join the server flood in June 9th. People still want Destiny, and they can't just kill it like this.

This is unrelated to my blog in so many ways but I feel the need to speak my mind.
Today is June 9th. Now, many of you that follow me might not know what that means or not know why it's special, but it is. A video game, my 3rd space, my second home, is receiving its final update today.
Destiny 2 was a game I started playing in August of 2020 after my oldest brother gave me his old PS4. I downloaded it, thinking nothing of it but when I started playing I was absolutely captivated. This was a universe so unique, so interesting, and it pulled me down a rabbit hole I knew I was never gonna get out of.
That game and it's community brought me something that no other game I ever played did - a family. My dearest friends, whom I consider brothers and sisters, I met through that game. Without it I would not be who I am and where I am today. It pushed me to draw more, it pushed me to keep going, and was there for me during some of my roughest times. I may not have always liked the game, but I did always love it. It breaks my heart to see it finally end, and end like this. It didn't deserve this ending. It didn't deserve it getting this treatment without a conclusive story.
I hope the Destiny community is listened to. I hope WE are listened to. Because Destiny and it's universe does not deserve this fate.
But, as it seems, things are looking unlikely. So for now, all we can do is hope. And I will keep on hoping. I will keep on playing even if the game slows right down to a crawl. It will forever be one of my favorites.

Why are we asking for Destiny 3 when the planned expansions for Destiny 2 are half-developed? Shouldn't we demand that SONY lets us finish dinner before we get dessert???
They promised us MORE with Frontiers, etc., and as the engine for their profits we should stand firm and hold them to those promises - and I for one don't want a THIRD game in the series that will just exist to be doomed to have a premature death.
LET THEM FINISH COOKING ON DESTINY 2 FIRST, YOU CORPO RAT BASTARDS. FINISH D2 PROPER OR NO MORE PROFITS FOR YOU.

it might not be called destiny 3 but we know they had a multi year roadmap for destiny we know they had 400 people working on destiny are those people doing nothing???? i don’t think so they need to be doing something!!! june 2nd i promise you we will hear something it will happen
Today marks the end of one chapter, and the beginning of another. For over 8 years, Destiny 2 has been an integral part of my life. It was there for me after I was ran over by a car, unsure if I would ever be able to walk again. Being a Guardian meant being able to help others while being brave yourself. It gave me strength when I had none.
Warlocks want to know, Hunters seek to achieve, and Titans wish to serve. While I respect each class, my heart has always been with the Titans. Being pillars of stalwart resolve against the darkness, they act as role models for those they support.
In honor of that mantra & the end of Destiny 2, I have made this new Titan to experience the journey one more time. To make new friends, serve the Last City, and save the universe...one last time.
