Yes, definitely! That sounds wonderfully interesting and I’d personally love to see it.
As long as the AU is basically your job - as long as you are bringing something to the table that someone who doesn’t work in your industry couldn’t really write - you’re good to go. So if you work with wildlife and your characters are magical, go ahead and throw some unicorns in. It’d be really neat to see your take on how wildlife rehabilitation works in the magical world. What is different, what remains the same, what magical-creature-specific concerns are there?
