a beautiful baby with big eyes was being held by her father. They were sitting at a table in front of me.

For some reason, she looked behind herself and for a few moments, she stared at me. I blinked to acknowledge her, to which she quickly spun away, but turned right back to face me again.

This action repeated for about 10 minutes, I realized, as I began to quietly smile, wave, and play peek-a-boo with this newly arrived human who did not know me at all, but for some reason, seemed unexplainably and genuinely fascinated.

Just then the mom met her family with just-purchased refreshments, and we began to have a nice convo about the gorgeous little one with freshly-pierced ears and a head full of dark hair.

As my lunch break was over, I bid adieu to the lovely family, and on the short walk back to work, I wondered if that brief interaction bore any kind of significance to our individual timelines...
