omfg so i was thinking about it when i was vodka-drunk, hormonal af and rewatching four marks (bad idea, cried like a baby whenever yen was onscreen). but like. yennefer and geralt are, obviously, parallel characters in a lot of ways so honestly i don’t think it would have gone /that/ differently had it been yen in posada, on the road and drinking alone. and you’re telling me jaskier wouldn’t have tumbled to her table, arse over elbow, the danger slut he is?
and ask her opinion, that she would NO DOUBT give him. in no uncertain terms.

and the thing is….the THING IS. they’re not that different once you peek under the surface a wee bit. they’re opposites in a lot of way but in a way that, i think, is more complementary than contradictory. both yennefer and jaskier experience their “loss of innocence” moments in the same episode after all, (let’s be honest “respect doesn’t make history” could have easily been a yen line), they both shield themselves from the world; jaskier through levity, yennefer through just being really prickly in general, but are both SOFTE (jaskier far more openly, but yennefer is definitely a soft before she learns to guard herself and a soft whenever she feels safe). considering how much yen wants to be important to someone, you know she’d lap that hyper-focused single minded affection up and return it TENFOLD. like she might have to turn him into a newt a couple of times just to get him to shut the fuck up he got better tho cos let’s face it he’s annoying as all fuck BUT she’d be his ENTIRE WORLD. and yennefer really needs to be LOVED OUT LOUD so badly. and she would be. SHE SO WOULD BE.
so them having an adventure together that turns their world (and world view) topsy turvy??? would actually be excellent??? yen saves their lives??? jaskier writes her a bop after bop, completely enamoured?
and well if/when they meet geralt in rinde the dynamic has gone over a bit of a switcheroo but djinns are still involved
