Starring: Abhay Deol & Preeti Desai
There's a song in the Movie I'm Just Pakaoed in which our lead actor shouts it on top of his voice to sing this, Well the exact sentiments I had after investing 30 odd minutes into this enduring film. Two Questions you will ask yourself every 15 mins Why did I decide to watch this film? & What the hell am I Watching on Screen?.
Amit Sharma (Abhay Deol) is a software engineer settled in mumbai who is bored with his life post breakup with his girlfriend and often tries to patch things back with his ex. Samara Patel (Preeti Desai) is an certified dancer from some London University and tries to find her path in the bustling city of mumbai, also a daughter of her single alcoholic mother.
Now Both the protagonist's life crosses each other in the entire film but never they meet, Infact not even face to face. The Film has some supporting characters who are boring and not even remotely funny as they try very hard to be. Now often the film Jumps from Amit's Story to Samara's Story so often, It's like watching two different films simultaneously. The film also takes us through Dance Reality Shows, Stolen DVD, a hacked voting of the dance competition, A Viral video,Innumerable Farts and Clumsily Written Dialogues which takes us all the way to the Climax.
The Film has its good moments but which are very rare and after long intervals. The Cinematography is classy and SOBO (South Bombay) has been Captured Beautifully. Choreography is great, some of the dance sequences are very well done and captured. The High Standard Production Values, Setting, Texturing are a delight to watch on screen. The Concept which is more of like Prequel to the beginning of a new love story is something which is very rare and brings freshness.
Abhay Deol & Preeti Desai both are awful in the movie. Did Abhay Deol even read the script before Signing & Producing this film? Poor Direction, Dialogues, Screenplay by Devika Bhagat. She had a great concept plus abhay deol on board, she could have done wonders with the film but instead she chose not to do that. It's hard to believe that she had penned down Story & Screenplay for Manorama Six Feet Under. Badly Casted Side Kicks the one which are with both the protagonist and wastage of talented actors like Darshan Jariwala, Rati Agnihotri, Lillete Dubey & Jayant Kriplani. Songs & Music are bad, Editing is not smooth and provides us with many Pauses and Jerks (Screenplay & Processing Problem).
The Film is way too pakaoed, and unnecessarily dragged to boredom. 139 Minutes seriously tests your patience, My Rating is neither one or two its One and Half out of five
