Devil’s Theatre | Seinaru Kamihikari

Once upon a time there was a young girl named Seinaru Kamihikari.

Seinaru was born into an extremely religious household, and she embraced Christianity with open arms.

The idea of being protected and loved by a higher power brought her comfort and a sense of identity.

But, good things can never last forever, no matter how young and innocent you are.

Her parents saw their obedient little girl as a gift from God himself, explaining why she was perfect in every way.

She was quickly taught about the world and how she and her family were the good in the world and that there were bad people.

Without any signs of caring, they warped their innocent child into a narcissistic girl who believed that she could do no wrong.

And those who did must always suffer retribution.

Eye for an eye.

If she even dared to commit a sin, she would accept the punishments assigned by her parents.

No matter the pain.

Or loneliness.

Seinaru would repent.

School was a challenge for Seinaru, but it all came crashing down when she was 13 years old.

They made fun of her, and so she fought back...clawing at their face and damaging their eye.

And as soon as she arrived home, Seinaru was forced to repent and face retribution.

Eye for an eye.

The thing she loved the most took everything away, and she despised it.

She secluded herself, threw herself into hobbies…

Escaped reality.

And her second chance at happiness, Kami Okurimono’s happiness, was all for nothing.

She simply couldn’t turn the other cheek.

“I wish I could be accepted as flawed.”

Devil’s Theatre | Yukitoshi Nishima

Once upon a time, there was a young boy named Yukitoshi Nishimura.

Yukitoshi was unable to fit in from the very beginning.

He was an extremely intelligent child...but a nightmare to care for due to how sickly he was.

But that didn’t matter, Yukitoshi’s parents were so proud of him and his sister Natsuha.

However, the children at school were not so easily swayed by his intelligence.

They were quick to tease him over his accent, timidness and sickliness among other things.

And despite his love for learning, he couldn’t help but detest school.

It was around this time that Yukitoshi discovered the different facets of the internet.

His time was divided between learning about a variety of subjects, playing games and talking to strangers over chatrooms.

And the deeper he went, being unable to fit in turned into not wanting to fit in.

People are useless.

Family drifts away.

And everyone is disappointed.

But he learned to stop caring over time.

It didn’t matter what people said or how they saw him. Not anymore.

Yukitoshi would throw insults and point out people’s flaws and he was left friendless.

And even when he made friends as he grew older...it wasn’t enough.

He was still alone.

Left to himself, clinging on to the past and history of the internet, finding comfort in a past that doesn’t truly exist.

And fame didn’t change anything.

Yukitoshi was still alone.

Forever alone.

Devil’s Theatre | Akihito Toujou

Once upon a time, there was a young boy named Akihito Toujo.

Akihito was a happy, optimistic boy, who found true wealth in bringing people joy despite how little his family had.

He would cheer up the sick, socializing and showing love and compassion for both the young and the old.

But one day, a very special patient entered the clinic. His name was Masami. He was a sickly boy whose presence was common.

Akihito felt especially close to Masami, who introduced him to idols. The two of them bonded over music and fashion, while Masami taught Akihito about everything he knew.

Though it wasn’t long before Akihito and Masami could no longer see each other. Masami grew more and more ill, and became bedridden. They kept in contact over the internet, but it simply wasn’t the same.

So, Akihito decided that he would find a way to make Masami happy.

He sang, danced and learned all of the mannerisms of Masami’s favourite idols and groups and uploaded them to show Masami.

And slowly, more and more people saw his video.

And he became more famous.

Which meant he was making even more people happy with his video.

So...he uploaded another.

And another.

And another.

But it was only a matter of time before he crashed.

One negative comment turned into two, and then three, and along with his views they became too many to count. 

And it crushed him.

There were people in this world who he just...couldn’t make happy.

It made him want to quit on the spot. 

But Masami continued to encourage him, even though he didn’t truly know how badly it affected Akihito.

So no matter how painful...he continued for Masami’s sake.

But his smile was breaking.

It was painful.

But he had to get over it...for Masami.

“...I wish...I could make everyone happy...”

As soon as the curtains close, you feel yourself black out once again...
