Wukong and macaque are suck in a underground box crushing trap while the others are trying to find a way to turn it off (shadowpeach)
Alright!!! Word Count: 855 ______ It was a demon’s doing because it was always a demon’s doing with Wukong. Sure, it was Macaque’s fault, he’d not kept his end of a deal, but that didn’t make it not Wukong’s fault for being there in the first place! They’d been fighting, when the world turned inside out. Wukong had at first tried to break the walls, but they only shuddered at his strength and began to close in on them. Macaque had been trying to figure this out, but they had a much more pressing problem when Wukong let out a scream. So here they were, Macaque watching as Wukong tried to stop the moving wall with his body. He seemed panicked, his tail lashing back and forth like a whip as he pushed against the walls to no avail. “Peaches! Quit trying, it’s not gonna work!” Macaque was getting bored with his show. “Shut up! I’m trying to get us out of here!” Wukong hissed, pushing against the wall one last time. He seemed to realize this wasn’t getting them anywhere and slid down the wall. He hid his head in his hands, letting out a little whine. Macaque tilted his head, watching as the other monkey began to tremble. “Hey, Peaches?” “I’m gonna die…” Wukong whispered, mostly to himself, “I’m going to die in here with you!” “Woah, OK!” Macaque hissed. “I’m sorry I’m such a terrible person to die with.” “You are! You’re a terrible person, and I don’t want to die with you!” “You can’t even die! What is the issue?” Macaque watched as the other monkey demon blushed in embarrassment and yelped when the walls got closer. He mumbled something Macaque could barely hear, which was a feat in itself because of how amazing Macaque’s ears were. Macaque shot him a look and Wukong sighed. “I… have claustrophobia…” Wukong whispered. Macaque barked out a laugh, which caused Wukong to bare his teeth. “The great Handsome Monkey King is scared of a couple of walls?!” The walls pushed them closer again and Wukong whimpered, hugging his tail like an infant. Macaque’s eyes widened as he realized the terror was real. “Hey,” He said, his voice low and soft. “Come here.” Wukong snarled, “What, so you can make fun of me some more?” “Just come here.” Macaque hissed, halfway opening his arms so Wukong could slot himself inside of them. Wukong scoffed and scooted over, intending on going over slowly, but the wall moved some more and he leaped into Macaque’s arms. Macaque let out a comforting coo and Wukong snorted at him. They were really doing this, cooing at each other like regular monkeys? Wukong was about to say something when Macaque brought his hand up and pet the back of his head. It was soothing and familiar, something he’d done back when they were kids. “There you go.” Macaque said softly, “You’re okay.” They fell right back into an old routine, Macaque comforting his friend-more than friend-through a panic he couldn’t understand. Wukong let out an exhale, trying to ignore the sound of the walls getting closer. “Hey, Peaches, look at me.” Macaque’s voice was so soft, so familiar, that Wukong couldn’t help but do what Macaque told him. “You’re alright.” Wukong nuzzled closer, looking back at the walls. He gulped and turned back to Macaque, starting to shake. Macaque pulled his face close to his own, smiling. “Can I kiss you?” He asked and Wukong nodded quickly. Macaque leaned in and kissed him, falling into a familiar dance of lips. The closing in of the walls was forgotten, just the two of them. Wukong sighed into the kiss, letting himself feel light and forget his panic for the time being. The walls got closer, close enough that they touched the toes of his boots. --- The fight had stopped when the two dueling monkey demons had suddenly disappeared in a flash of light. There had barely been a beat before MK was vaulting over to where they’d been fighting, shouting. “Monkey King?!” He yelled, looking around frantically. Red Son ran over, pointing at MK, “We weren’t done yet, Newdle B-” “Shut.” MK whipped around, fixing him with a glare. Red Son paled. Mei rushed over as MK was fiddling with
the staff and hopped off her bike. “What happened?” “The Monkey King and Macaque just disappeared! I’m trying to find out where they went!” The staff extended and punched into the ground, and MK jumped at the sudden movement. It took them about half an hour to dig down there and stop the box, and when they opened it they found Wukong crying into Macaque’s arms. “Monkey King?” MK asked, leaning down so he could offer the monkeys his hand. Macaque eyed him and disappeared into the shadows, causing Wukong to faceplant into the floor of the box. He groaned and let out a little sniffle. “Y-yeah kid?” He asked, terribly trying to cover up the fact that he was crying. He forced himself up and wiped his eyes quickly, before turning to MK with a shaky smile. “Do you wanna go home, Monkey King?” “Yeah…”
