Singa Laut
February 2015 - August 2015
Singa Laut was first created for a module in DADP called Devised Drama. During the module, a group of friends and I came together to create a piece using a national day song, societal issues as well as poems of the Merlion as the stimulus.
Singa Laut was a piece that aims to question the identity of Singapore and Singaporeans.
With the help of our drama lecturer Ms Oniatta Effendi and a great team, we were given the opportunity to restage “Singa Laut” twice. First in Singapore Drama Educator Art’s Conference, and second in Tanglin.
It was an amazing experience to learn from Ms O and to be able to work alongside 2 wonderful teams (Merlion Team and Crew) as well as, to be able to choreograph and act in our very own piece.
