Snatches of The Power as it makes its way Westminster-wards.
And here we go with the route for Day 4 of our rolling conversational democratic jam session, Bank Holiday Monday, 4th May... We leave Southampton first thing tomorrow and potter along the south coast to finish the day in Brighton.
As usual, we've posted the times we'll be arriving at each station, in case you'd like to come along and meet us, like these students did in Southampton tonight... Amazing!
We chatted to Denville and his son Laurence at the Boathouse Cafe in Highbridge.
Denville hadn’t voted for ages. Just got out of the habit, he said.
Laurence said all the parties have something different, but not one of them has something he could totally agree with.
We talked about how it would be in a perfect world.
Denville said for it to be perfect, we’d all have to be Christians and change would have to come from the heart.
Highbridge, stop #10 of 49
Where will we be tomorrow? Ask that in an important sounding voice and you’ve basically defined what politics is about. But speaking practically, here’s the map of our route for Day 2 of this journey to Westminster, Saturday 2nd May.
We’ll be catching a train from Exeter first thing to arrive at Taunton (#8), then on to Bridgwater (#9) and Highbridge (#10) in the morning, Weston-super-Mare (#11) around lunchtime, Yatton (#12) and Bedminster (#13) in the afternoon, finishing for the day at Bristol Temple Meads (#14) from where we’ll catch a ferry into the middle of the city.
The times on the map are when our train is due to arrive at each town. Come and join us, bring your trombones and ukeleles, bring your cameras, bring your hearts and your heads and your voices. You’ve got The Power!
