Ryan takes a step forward, and Min scrunches up into himself even tighter, eyes shut. With his chin tucked to his collarbone and his hands pressed against his chest, it’s like he’s trying to disappear. “I don’t want you to feel like you’re trapped with me—”
But then he gasps, spiral interrupted by the weight of fabric swishing over his back. He opens his eyes to see Ryan standing before him on steady stone ground, returning his fog-blue raincoat.
Careful not to touch Min directly, Ryan tucks the raincoat around his shoulders just right, so it’s nice and secure and won’t slide off. But once he’s done, he hesitates to let go. His claws cling loosely to the lapels, cinching the coat snug. Like a hug, or maybe a lasso. Either way, it keeps Min close.
“You’re not making me do anything,” Ryan mutters. His hands are so close to Min’s chest. The wrinkles in Min’s white shirt make Ryan itch to smooth them down. “Obviously I want you to feel safe. Obviously…”

You ever read something that makes your stomach just feel awful? Like uneasy and you just go "oh shit".
But you are invested. It's a creeping feeling. Nothing that should be inherently scary. But everything feels slightly to the left. You get the feeling you know what's going on, what's happening. But the character you are following doesn't. The realization that nothing will be the same when truths are known. The air is so fragile. One hint of a truth could shatter their reality-or more accurately, their false one. That's the kind of horror I enjoy-where the words make you uneasy, but the silence is far more scary. A less literal tearing of the flesh, a tearing of the mind.
Anyway, I am enjoying Devotion Breaks Through the Land of Roots a lot :)
the best part of squid game season 3 to me is that we get a sample of what devotion breaks min would sound like lol
cause johnny young, min's va, plays myun-gi in the english dub, and dude absolutely crashes out
