Hello again Infinity Train fandom! So, that Vampire Ryan fic I mentioned I had an idea for, I wrote a snippet of it and I want to share it! It’s absolutely from somewhere in the middle of the fic bc why would I start at the beginning.

It isn’t very exciting rn, but I am proud of it so far! Some of it might be reworded (especially the second part of the start of this snippet), and there is meant to be more in the end bit, but I’m blanking hard how to write it.

It’s cruel, Ryan thinks, just how good food still smells, how good it still tastes. Yet, it always made his body react like he was being poisoned every single time.

The car they found themselves in seemed to resemble a diner, it sort of reminded him of Dumpty’s actually, just a whole lot bigger and crowded. Plus there were the lizard people and the lack of windows. They’d seen weirder honestly.

The denizens there were thankfully very friendly, and were more than happy to give them food once they noticed they were hungry. They were sat at a booth near where they’d entered the car, and plates were put in front of them almost immediately.

Across from Ryan, Min was contentedly eating the food they’d been provided, occasionally holding out a bite on his fork for Kez, but Ryan’s food remained untouched as he stared at his plate, fists clenched in his lap under the table.

It was the breakfast that you could find at pretty much any diner; scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, shredded hash browns, toast, a glass of orange juice. Ryan loved diner breakfast, but… He couldn’t eat this.

There were ten minutes of sitting in silence, before Kez broke it, “Ryan, buddy? You alright? You haven’t touched your food yet.”

The guitarist looked up to see both Kez and Min staring at him.

“Oh, uh, yeah. I’m just..” Ryan paused for a split second, quickly searching his brain for an excuse and landing on the easiest one. “I’m not really that hungry.”

Min raised an eyebrow at him, swallowing the food he had in his mouth before he spoke. “Bullshit. We got on this train a week ago and neither of us have eaten anything since then. If I’m hungry after that long, then so are you,” Min paused, gaze flitting down to Ryan’s still full plate before looking back up at him. “Eat.”

The word came out like a command, with a gentle yet stern tone that was typically reserved for toddlers or the stubborn elderly. A tone Min had been using an awful lot since they got on this train.

I am not good at fleshing out au ideas but here goes an Infinity Train Byler au

So both Will and Mike end up on the train; maybe they had been fighting before hand. At first they try to get off the train but are being kinda salty towards each other but as time goes on they start to reconcile but while they get closer Mike starts to sabotage them and deliberately making there numbers go up. Then Will finds out they fight and he goes to a different train car. I’m not sure what the next part would be but I can imagine them later talking it out and getting together

Infinite Train AU: Chloé post Automail and post Edward Elric jacket tries to do Circleless Transmutation (it would be perfect for dealing with whatever challenge they currently face), it works, both of them decide they are going to deal with much later.

Had a thought in the shower. Does Ariel adopt Chloé in the Infinity Train AU? We always joke about it happening, but I don't think you have an AU that follows through on it.

Probably not. If I want an 'Ariel(and friends) adopt Chloé' story I'd want that as the focus

My favorite college AU headcanon is that Simon takes art classes for his major while Min takes them as an elective and always ends up making the most beautiful,jaw-dropping pieces while Simon ends up with B+ projects and wants to slam his own head into a wall

Infinity Train AU: As much as I love the idea of "established" Chlonette when they get off the train, between Audrey's pending imprisonment and André's disownment, Chloé probably wants to get her feet under her a little better before jumping into romance.

(When she brings this up to the Dupain-Chengs, Sabine declares that while Chloé is right, she has to heal from her physical wounds before trying to build herself up or she'll re-open them.)

Oh yeah no they're. They've talked about some things but they both need a minute to get their shit together before really going out on dates.

Infinity Train New Apex Au

Infinity train AU that no one asked for but I thought it’d be so so fun to throw Lake into the Apex with Jesse. They can draw a themself a number, pass it off as being “turned off” by One or something, and go from there. Kinda impractical — esp with the flec to also consider — but it’d be filled with tension and anxiety and PEAK.

Imagine Lake scribbling a number change during raids. Imagine Lake worrying about telling Jesse the truth and the grief Jesse feels about confirming what he always knew deep down: denizens are alive and have thoughts, feelings, and dreams. Imagine Lake feeling conflicted because a lot of the Apex kids are nice, just misguided and turned into something near unforgivable. Imagine Jesse struggling to forgive himself. PEAK ANGST. Imagine them trying to hide Alan Dracula from the Apex kids because AD refuses to leave them. PEAK COMEDY.

I gave Lake back their Mohawk because it looks SICK and I love it. I gave Grace an anti-theft tag crown because it’s COOL and she deserves it.

I aged up Lucy and Alex from book 3 ep 1 to be the other keystones because Lucy was an obvious pick and Alex was the only other kid I remembered cause the fitting lightbulb thing. I toyed around with Apex Tulip because she’s awesome and the best choice for head of tech but that creates too many complications with Lake.

Lastly it’d just be fun to have Lake interact with Simon more. They’d play along to avoid suspicion but Simon’s words would probably get to them. Things is, before Simon gets suspicious and investigates, he probably thinks of Lake as one of his best new recruits. Lake hates this and hates him. Imagine Lake interacting with Grace. Imagine Grace figuring Lake out and asking Lake to wheel a null in front of the ENTIRE APEX, AAAAAAA. Jesse and Lake would just have to book it at that point. There’s just so many interesting scenarios to imagine. Fun fun fun.

Also brief description of each zone and their purpose. Forgot to put that in the art.

War: Raids, taking over cars, any battles against denizens

Rescue/Recon: Rescuing apex members from cars due to instability, retreat, raids gone wrong, etc. Also rescuing any new passengers/new recruits.

Husbandry: Food & stable stuff. Lucy is probably extra bitter at Jesse for not having to wheel a null because she did and she is shown to really like them in canon.

Tech: Train manipulation & gadgets.

“Diplomacy”: Recruiting passengers, sorting intrapersonal conflicts within the Apex, “negotiating” ie extorting denizens, & whatever the hell Grace wants it to mean

Anyway. Gotta face reality so no more art. May I gain the strength and time management to write a fic about this one day.
