Disgruntled US worker, #DeWayneCraddock 40, storms offices and kills 12 and injures six after 'indiscriminately' opening fire before being shot by cops in fierce gun battle. --------------------- Thirteen people have died, including the gunman, after a long time city worker opened fire near his office in a devastating shooting at #Virginia Beach municipal center that has also injured six others, including a police officer. Law enforcement say they believe there was one active shooter who shot 'at random'. --------------------- That person - said to be a disgruntled current employee - died in the incident after police returned fire. Sources had told WAVY the injured police officer is expected to survive and police chief Jim Cevera said he was saved by his vest. Cevera said the shooter was a 'longterm, current' city of Virginia Beach public utilities employee. He added: 'There's no way to describe an incident such as this.' The suspected gunman who allegedly murdered 12 people and wounded several others in a mass shooting at a Virginia Beach municipal building was identified as DeWayne A. Craddock.
