Olaf + Kit + Dewey = picnic date :3c
Anon i LOVE you. //theyre a bit young here- 20′s or so. shared apartment perhaps? college au??? who knows ((ALSO HOLY CRAP THIS IS LONG im so sorry aahhh))Dewey probably suggested it- listing the most serene spots he knows of. Places that are quiet, not too far, and the perfect way to spend a lazy spring afternoon with the people he cares for. He more than likely brought it up during the first sign that winter was fading- and then again when he had noticed that work had slowed down for the three.Kit would be for it! Asking about what foods to bring (wine? or would it be too early-) and excitedly picking out a novel to start, as well as a blanket large enough for the three of them. She says to the boys, “It’s been ages since we went out together” with a loving smile on her faceOlaf would be huffy- why walk for ages just to sit in some grass and risk bugs and leaves in the food? He’s much more of a at-home date kind of person. Because of this, he makes the other two stay in the kitchen the day before the outing- keeping him company as he prepares small finger foods ((a headcanon that i believe- he could cook rather well when in a good head-space)) and picks out an appropriate wine, because “no kit, it would not be too early at all”of course the other two help him, and so the day before their official date was kind of a date itself.Dewey leads them to a small patch of forest he found while digging though some old maps in his library. Spring flowers sprinkled across the grass that was beginning to grow back in patches. Lagging behind- Olaf would pick one and give it to Kit- and then grab a handful and toss it in Dewey’s hair (he got a laugh out of it, as well as a playful punch on each shoulder from the two. he did not mention how he was happy to get out of the house- but the other’s could see it in how he held himself) (the three ended up covered in grass and flowers before they even sat down)the picnic itself was marvelous. They sat in a clearing, finding a spot to lay out in (Kit and Olaf bickered a little on the best place to be, shade or sun, and Dewey choose for them- a place where a tree casted a shadow that covered exactly half the blanket). Kit set out the paper plates and napkins while Dewey helped with the food. Olaf sat in his shady spot and admired how the sun lit flames in their hair and on their skin- making them glow under the blue sky.
They would chat about little things between sips of wine and sloppily made sandwiches, playful banter between the three. Olaf is softer with kit and more teasing with Dewey, Kit tells Olaf to play nice and defends Dewey, Dewey leans against Olaf’s shoulder and peeks over him to read the book Kit has in her hand. They would stay there for hours. Olaf falling asleep between the two, Kit and Dewey reading the book together (a little hard to do with a large young man between them- but they manage) and next spring- on that same datethey would do it again
