Deymons - book 1 rough summary
"Moon doesn't know what she wants for her life. There's any number of things she could choose to be; a farmer like most of her small town is, a merchant who can travel and see any and everything, a baker or cook like her nest-parents, a shop worker, a Phoenix Guard who work to keep everyone safe at peace from each other and the Monsters that are constantly coming in from the Deadlands.
There are so many things she could do. But none of them feel right to her. None of them make her feel excited or welcome, as if she really belongs there, doing that.
Then one day, her best, and only really, friend Silver declares he's going to the Middle Territory, to join the Induction, the test to become a Protector.
The Protectors, the highest group of people in the whole Kingdom, working directly under and on the orders of the Cordivan, the leader of them all. They do what the Phoenix Guard can't handle, and everyone applauds and relies on them.
And Silver wants to join them.
And he wants Moon to join the Induction with him.
Moon doesn't want Silver to leave her. She's not sure she wants to be a Protector, but she has no other real plans, and joining the Induction may even open her eyes to what she does want to do.
So she agrees to go with him, joining the Induction with all of the others hoping to become a Protector.
As the Induction begins and progresses, Moon realizes that, buried deep in the structure of the Protectors and their Cordivan, something isn't quite right. Something is pulling on strings, playing everyone as their puppet.
Moon refuses to become one as well."

A rough summary for the new series Deymons that I'm working on! I'm still hoping for a mid to late April release, and I couldn't be more excited! Deymons is such a fun series to write, and I hope people enjoy reading it too!
