Rambles about dragon Kendra from my Dragonfruit AU and the aftermath of her 3-page comic C: (i left this infodump gathering dust in my drafts?? FOR MONTHS? Woe). Also kind of her origin story in a way.
BACKSTORY TIME!!! Somewhere around season one or two, Kendra is aware of April having connections to a mysterious someone (its Donnie) who keeps hacking into the schools network and tempering with it. Shes very suspicious about why/how April somehow gets grades good enough to pass subjects that Kendra thinks April isnt even smart enough for, and who the mysterious hacker even is. She would never admit it, but shes a little impressed by how long the hacker has gone undetected and what theyve been able to do.
She starts keeping tabs on Aprils activity to figure out whats up, when she notices that April sometimes sneaks back into school when its empty and closed, usually accompanied by an unknown someone (Its Donnie again). On one such night, April and Donnie actually snuck onto the schools premises because a couple of oozesquitoes had found their way in, and they were trying to capture any that they could find.
Kendra found out April was sneaking around that night, and decided to follow and maybe find out who the hacker is. She attempts to sneak up on April and Donnie while theyre backs are turned, searching for the oozesquitoes. Its late, its dark, she cant see anything clearly but their vague silhouettes.
Kendra grabs her phone to record the confrontation + for flashlight, but when she moves out of the shadows (intending to scare them, for a little devious fun) the notification/flash of the video starting a recording starting and her sudden appearance, it spooks Donnie so bad that his immediate reaction is to whip his head around to lash out and bite whatever had just snuck up on him.
Everyone freaks out!! Kendra just got BITTEN by something that looks like a giant sinister ferret, one that could probably swallow her whole. April freaks out because someone she knows from school who can be a real threat to her and her brothers safety just busted her and Donnie, and Donnie freaks out because hes just been discovered, but moreso that the saliva from his bite is venomous and he doesnt know what it will do to a stranger that hes bitten.
Kendra makes a run for it while April and Donnie are in shock, and finds someplace to hide and process what she just witnessed. While hiding, one of the oozesquitoes in the school that April and Donnie had come to capture, actually ends up biting Kendra! She smacks it away and thinks nothing of it at first, getting up and sneaking back out of school to return home and patch herself up. On her way home, in some random quieter part of the city, Kendra starts mutating.
Donnie and April are unable to find Kendra after she ran away, but theyre hoping she made it to a hospital while also fearing she might expose Donnies existence to the world.
When April goes to school over the next week, she finds out that Kendra is actually missing, so she gets her brothers to help investigate and search for her. Donnie actually has a really really good sense of smell, with Raph being second, both of them are kind of like sniffer dogs in dragon bodies, so they try to track Kendras scent.
It takes about another week, but Donnie is finally able to locate Kendra by following some weird reports online and tracking her down with scent trails. And he finds out pretty fast that shes been mutated into a DRAGON, with his DNA!
This whooole backstory is something im not sure will be written OR drawn anytime soon, and theres definitely more to it that i havent shared yet.
