The original plan I had for proceeding this is not currently workable. I'll see what I can do. That's the kind of thing that happens if you don't draw for very long time.
Fuck, I wanted to go on a pride tomorrow but me knee hurts like soneofabitch.
I was thinking about doing a Halloween/WWX's birthday piece, but I hadn't started it yet. Since this one, that I finished 2 days ago took a few weeks I'm not sure about that. Any way, it's markers and fine likes on flimsy photocopy paper. Enjoy!
Also I basically copied the donghua official art's homework and changed it a bit so it wouldn't be too obvious.
my accidental Pride piece is ready. Why accidental Pride piece? Because I drew instead of going on pride in my city (or any other fun midsummer activities). No, I didn't skip pride for this - my leg hurts.
Notes:
I should have probably scan it before I tried to make any sort background effects. But that's what you get for trying a new medium and also not doing backgrounds often. In any case I'm a stronger artist for trying and I'm sure there's someone out there who'd think the background is an absolute bomb. (There's black and white ink only version at the bottom).
Originally, I intended to use special paper for markers, but that was not working out. That's why the proportions are wonkier than they'd be otherwise - marker paper I have is 20x20. Regular, flimsy printer paper did the job just fine.
Marker stink. My ink water soluble coloured pencils don't. But on the plus side the paper doesn't deform from water so that's a win.
I'll probably need regular yellow yellow and green green if I'm going to draw with markers more often. Champaign isn't cutting it on the occasions. I'll need lighter shades of blue if I'm going to draw LWJ more often. And dark blue probably as well (darker blue is an ink pen not marker and so is lighter red).
The backstory of that piece is that I've bough myself some markers and other junk on a bargain when the artshop near my work was closing/switching locations. But I didn't know what to draw and all my ideas were running through my fingers like water the moment I sat to draw. But then someone posted this:
asking to make it Wangxian, and I've though it would fun to draw.
I wanted to draw something that wouldn't take me two months to finish
only after drawing this I realised what a doozy a story featuring the two of them would be
Wei Wuxian would absolutely love Maomao
Maomao would absolutely find Wei Wuxian anoying (I believe they would find the common ground, though, specially after learning that a) MaoMao love liquor, b) she is banned from touching human corpses least she starts using them as medical ingredients and develops a habit of grave robbery)
Lan Wangji and Jinshi would absolutely be drinking soo much vinegar (at least if the story took place before Wei Wuxian's death). They could also bond over their respective gremlins various eccentricities (that is Jinshi could speak and Lan Wangji could mn in understanding).
