Deeeeg hello!!! Thank you so much for the prompt, I really appreciate it! Since this is my pick of characters I'm gonna go with some Suhak jrengkjeng [from this ask game]

Hak was relaxing in his room when a knock came at his door. 

It was late enough that he was off-duty, and it was rare for people to visit him at this hour. Most would already be in bed and asleep by now, Hak had just stayed up far past when he intended to sleep. He drew himself to his feet, and he walked to the door to open it.

He expected Yona to be standing there, almost. Su-won had been his second guess, and sure enough, there Su-won was.

He was already dressed for bed, standing at his doorway in simple sleeping robes with a ribbon binding his hair instead of his standard golden band. There was an apologetic smile on his lips, and Hak would almost wonder what he was doing there, were it not for the subtle bags that had started to develop under his eyes. 

“Sorry to visit so late,” Su-won said, but that was as far as he got before he paused, seemingly unsure what else to say. Hak waited, watching as Su-won laced and unlaced his fingers where his hands were folded in front of him. “I was wondering… Do you have a spare futon?” 

“...Sure,” Hak said, stepping to the side to let Su-won in. 

He breathed out in relief, flashing a smile as Hak closed the door behind him. Hak had his spare futon out of the closet in a few moments, unfurling it next to his own. He didn’t ask why Su-won, a member of the royal family who would be afforded a lavish guest room in the castle, needed to come sleep in the servants’ quarters with him. Hak had looked after enough kids younger than him growing up to recognize when someone didn’t want to sleep alone, when nightmares or anxiety or stress made it impossible to fall asleep to the quiet loneliness of an empty room. 

He settled in his own futon, and Su-won, after a beat of hesitation, claimed the spare he’d laid out. “Sorry about this.” 

“Don’t worry about it,” Hak replied. “Something happen?” 

“No,” Su-won said. “It must just be the stress getting to me.” 

Hak hardly believed that, but he didn’t call Su-won out on the lie. His friend was always all smiles, always unflappable and bubbly. That he’d been having trouble sleeping was surprising, and that he’d come to Hak was even more so. The last thing Hak wanted to do was discourage it by making a big deal of it. 

“Right. Do you want my pinky?” 

Su-won blinked at him. They were both laying down, facing one another, and Hak watched his expression shift to one of perplexity beneath the fan of his golden hair. “Pardon?” 

“Something Yona wanted,” he said, holding out his hand. “She wanted just the pinky.” 

Su-won laughed at that, his nose crinkling and his eyes dancing. The sound of it made Hak’s heart skip a beat. “I’ll take you up on that, then.” 

Except Su-won took more than just the pinky, lacing their hands together as though they were children again, letting it rest between them where their futons met. Su-won’s eyes slid shut, and Hak waited with baited breath, his own heart thundering in his ears. He hoped Su-won wouldn’t hear it, wouldn’t discover the feelings bubbling under Hak’s skin for him. He hoped it wouldn’t keep him up. 

Hak’s fears were unfounded. Even with the way his heart raced, Su-won’s breathing evened out in quick order, lulled to sleep without Hak even turning out the lantern. Something about the sight steadied Hak. 

Su-won probably really needed sleep. Hak wondered what could be in Su-won’s nightmares, what could disturb one of the few people Hak looked up to. He reached forward, until his knuckles were just about to brush the fringe of Su-won’s bangs, before he thought better of it and pulled back. 

Without breaking where their hands were linked, Hak turned out the lantern and settled in to sleep.

the chatfic was an attempt at a prompt for the murderbot gift exchange last year that I didn't go far enough with, but the premise was fun so I decided to keep it around in case I ever wanted to work on it again.

and yes... my poor p&p fic that i was Actively Thinking About when i was making the post but then forgot about by the time i got to my 'other fandoms' list ;-; shame on me xP it's based on the idea that Wickham was slutting it up in a neighbouring county while claiming to be from Pemberley, the ~scandal~ got to Meryton and now everyone's worried about The Rake of Pemberley. Wickham shows up and hears about this so-called rake, decides this is a great opportunity to play the long game, and starts telling lies xP

by the time Bingley et al arrive, the whole town is already against the master of Pemberley, and Darcy is bewildered at the reception he receives xP but I haven't gotten quite that far in the WIP itself yet.

Perihelion: I know @SecUnit(PresAux) asked somebody verbally to send that message on its behalf. I do not know if that person actually sent the message or if someone else did.

SecUnit(PresAux): i still don’t get the point of sending anonymous messages. sounds like trouble waiting to happen.

Iris(Crew): Ostensibly it’s for anonymous complaints or feedback from the crew or the students, but we mostly use it for silly reasons.

Leonide(BE): Pardon me, why have I been added to this chat? 

Amena(PresAux): oops, that was an accident. you can stay if you want though, i don’t think anybody will be spilling any proprietary information or anything right?

p&p The Rake of Pemberley ('rake' for short) snippet:

Given the source of this information, rumours of “the rake of Pemberley” had already spread far and wide throughout Meryton and its surrounding villages by the time Elizabeth next met with her friend Charlotte Lucas.

As Hertfordshire had not had any recent scandals of this magnitude to occupy the conversations of the local gossips, it seemed one from a neighbouring county would have to do.

“It is as if they all think the rake of Pemberley shall impose himself upon us next,” Charlotte said when the topic came up between her and Elizabeth. “I rather think the man has likely already removed to the north and will not trifle with people of such little consequence as we are.”

“Indeed,” laughed Elizabeth. “Though if he does, at least the merchants will have been forewarned and shall know to guard their daughters and the list of men to whom they will grant a line of credit.”

“They shall have to be exceedingly vigilant,” Charlotte replied solemnly, “for I have most recently heard that he somehow managed all of this perfidy in a single night. I shan’t be surprised if I hear next that he also importuned the daughters of the local gentry.”

“Well, if he comes here, at least you and I shall not be thus afflicted. We both are excellent judges of character and shall immediately see through whatever pretty words he uses in an attempt at seduction.”

“Dear Eliza, I think that perhaps you have been reading too many novels.”

“Dear Charlotte, there can be no such thing.”
