Niu, I hope you see this. I'm rereading dhd again and I just wanted to say how glad I am that you started it. You do such a great job with the setting, and the stories... I especially love Alrick's expressions throughout. You do an excellent job fleshing out characters, too. I keep coming back to the comic and that's not something I do often. Thank you.

Thank you SO MUCH for your kind words! I'm always genuinely floored when people praise Death-Head's Deal and find it touching their soul (and inspiring them). I try to do my justice to these characters because I feel like I don't own them, they were just given to me and I need to look after them. Give them a room to tell me who they are and how they live. I'm honored if I have managed to do that and readers like you can see it in Death-Head's Deal.

I've been thinking about the comic and the characters for the past three months. I feel like I am not ready (health wise) to tackle a long comic because my head and body can't take it. That's why I have been drawing these 4 panel (yonkoma) comics, because I can complete them in relatively short period of time and thus they don't drain me so much. (I've been thinking yonkoma DHD comics but they don't really fit the narrative, albeit additional silly DHD content over Tumblr could be handled with yonkoma).

I guess I have also been a bit lonely in my creative corner with DHD. I used to get asks and prompts and ideas from readers but then they stopped almost completely, and I felt like I was all by myself yelling into a void. That maybe I did something wrong and people weren't interested in DHD any longer, and had nothing to comment or inquire. So it got lonely compared how things used to be, and I wondered if anyone wanted to read the comics anymore.

Of course, the whole surgery and saga with anemia took its own toll and paused things for a GOOD while...!

I hope that once we find out what REALLY is going on with my health, then I can start a proper journey towards healing with the right tools. Then, I should have energy and resources for a longer comics like episodic Death-Head's Deal.

TL;DR: The comic and the characters are not abandoned and will return to delight you all once my health allows me to tackle bigger, longer comics. ( •̀ ω •́ )
