“SOUTHWEST”

Ismael Duran and Lydia Gutierrez founded @GarageCultural in Southwest Detroit with a vision of providing arts and education opportunities for the community—collaborating with other organizations to support artists, entrepreneurs, and youth. In May, 2015, while serving an artist residency with @1xRun—a Detroit-based destination for original art and world leader in published fine art editions—JesĂşs BenĂtez, aka Dhear, created this work for Garage Culture on Livernois Ave. Based in Mexico City, BenĂtez' doesn't focus on any one medium or style, and according to Pangeaseed "draws inspiration from science fiction, cosmic terror, digital illustration, his internal concerns and vision of the present."  @jesusbenitezf/
