❛ i see you around the area a lot. do you work around here? ❜

There was something very strange about the Doctor sitting there drinking a cup of decaffeinated tea in a dog cafe. Perhaps it was the strange aura that surrounded him as he frequented unreachable realms with ceremonies and rituals for the benefit of his health and to satiate the mystery behind his life. Perhaps it was only strange to humans as they whispered to one another under the guise of peaceful patrons with a fascination with the breeds that encircled them. He had a few on his lap while one attempted to crawl up his arm and bask on the top of his head and he quietly wondered if the pooch had been some sort of cat in its past life. Meanwhile, there was a large dog resting on the top of the cushion the Doctor’s back was pressed on. It was as if he was guarding the witch doctor. None of them seemed phased by the creeping darkness that seeped from painted fingernails as he wrapped firm digits around the mug and sipped on the light green substance. Green tea. Good for the brain.
He had his laptop open on the table as he scrolled away with his free hand. He was updating himself on Llyr’s blog. Even though the boy worked for him and often he would help him with his posts, he still liked to read the final outcomes when they were no longer in each other’s presence. Perhaps it was a strange ‘father-like’ habit of his as he didn’t want to outright show the male that he was still vested in the blog regardless of the fact he helped with it. Was this a form of embarrassment? Ryuuji had always been upfront about his feelings, especially with Llyr, but this… this seemed a little too personal. Besides, there were things that he wasn’t a part of and would only hear pieces of. Ryuuji was proud of his assistants work even if he didn’t outright say it to him enough.
Like a slow-moving owl, his head turned towards the direction of the voice but his eyes were still trained on the screen as he was determined to finish the sentence before moving on. When he finally looked up, one of the barista’s had come around to give him the second cup he had ordered as he was running out. He must have been too invested in reading he didn’t hear his order being yelled out. “Yes.” He said as slowly as he turned his head. He placed his now empty mug on the table and pushed it away to replace it with the new cup. “I’m a physician with my own private practice.” He made sure to wipe his hands with a napkin before offering to shake the young man’s hand - even though he hadn’t any reason to do so. “Dr. Gade. It’s a pleasure.”
