Theory:
Antonia Hartigan is Professor Meltlake.
We know Meltlake is a Hartigan, specifically Derek’s aunt, who changed her name after evaporating an entire lake during a magical duel. Antonia Hartigan is an extremely powerful Elementalist who specializes in fire magic and matches Meltlake’s general description, albeit several years younger. Perhaps her namesake magical duel takes place during the Tournament of the Sacred Sword.

Sure, I’d told myself, “I’ll be more careful”, but it turns out that saying that when you’re under the effect of something influencing your mind, just saying “I’ll be more careful” alone is pretty useless. In fact, it’s probably pretty useless even outside of that situation, unless you actually take steps to reinforce it. Words without action behind them are about as useful as an empty cup in the hands of a man dying of thirst.

“Questioning as in, ‘How do you know about the Sun Eater’ or questioning as in, ‘Approximately what temperature do you think this hot poker is’?” “More the former, but admittedly the latter isn’t impossible. I do think they have more modern torture implements, however.” “Oh, good to know they’re up-to-date, at least.” I sighed.
