Diamond Dan is a short game. It only took me about 2 hours to play its 21 levels. There’s four levels of difficulty but I didn’t find the higher levels of difficulty to be that fun, just frustrating.
It’s a pretty simple game - get to the bottom of the dungeon while avoiding traps. The only difference between levels is the depth of the dungeon and the type of traps. Many of the traps can be hard to see so you have to tread carefully. The two characters have different abilities - Dan can push blocks while his girlfriend can break blocks (but only horizontally). I preferred her abilities to his as it made the levels a bit easier.
Like several other games I have finished, I didn’t get all the achievements and don’t have much inclination to get them since the game isn’t fun enough to grind. However, it’s was fun for two hours and it’s off my backlog!
As I’ve been going through my Steam backlog I realized that I bought way too many cheap casual games. Sometimes they’re fun but I really like to get into a good, long game most of the time. I may have to do some more culling.
