I hate the Diamont when it comes to rendering.
On that note:
Her name is Pebbles.
If you want to draw her without all the effects of her crystals, you gotta DM me unfortunately. Alternatively, she has 90% of Spire's color pallet with the most major color change being the orangey yellow crystals are now purpley pink.
Oh, and it doesn't show well, but she has little crystals on her face that mimic freckles.
The Diamont Race
The race known as the Diamonts are a little understood mystery, a species lost to time, with scattered few references in the pieced together histories of other ancient peoples, such as the Chozo and Alimbics. They are a race of silicon based lifeforms from a planet that is, itself, unknown. Only one member of this species is known to exist currently, a now Bounty Hunter named Spire. He is said to come from the planet Mondreus, a world on the outer rim of the Galactic Federation’s reach. Though it is not the homeworld of the Diamonts, Spire’s own information indicates that it was once the territory of the Diamont’s primary governing body.
Biology
The body of a Diamont consists of a soft, silicon based inner layer and a liquid Crystal outer layer. The surface of their silicon based body is said to resemble a tangle of vines or weeds, with small protrusions appearing along their bodies for the purpose of interfacing with the liquid crystal layer more efficiently, a topic to which we will return. The inner body requires a constant, immensely high temperature to survive, causing the Diamont to rely on magma for reheating. Due to its inherent fragility, information on this inner body is exceedingly scarce, and Spire himself has refused any such internal analysis. The liquid crystal outer layer is an amorphous substance which takes on a liquid appearance similar to superheated magma when at rest. This has lead to a misconception among some that Diamonts are in a way, sentient magma. The substance is orange, and partially see through allowing them to perceived the world around them. This substance can, when an electrical current is passed through, become a solid, taking on a crystalline appearance. This allows for their normally amorphous bodies to take on a solid form, as well as allowing for locomotion through precise control of the crystallization process facilitated by their inner body’s spongy surface. However, the liquid crystal layer, too, must be kept at a high temperature. Cooling results in the substance permanently hardening, taking on an opaque appearance similar to rusted iron. Thus, their usual magma baths take on an additional purpose in ensuring a healthy and nimble outer body. It should be stated that this cooled state is still incredibly hot, never dropping below roughly 89 degrees Celsius.
The level of control Diamonts have over their bodies is impressive. The amorphous nature of their liquid crystal layer allows them to take on various forms, from bipedal to quadrupedal. Thus, Diamonts have no set stature, and even the amount of limbs they use can vary. Spire himself takes a bipedal form, but even its height can vary greatly. Spire can use precise control of this liquid Crystal layer to create various forms of melee weaponry, from clubs to blades to flails. Additionally, the solidification of their outer layer during cooling is also utilized by the Diamonts. While not as adaptable as the amorphous, heated state, the cooled state is far more durable, able to endure sharp piercing attacks and crushing blows. Thus, Diamonts typically utilize it as armor. A method Spire is known to employ is known as the Dialanche, where the user morphs into a ball, with various liquid crystal outcroppings allowing traversal even in vertical terrain. From there, the cooled plates can then be used to shield the inner body, or even used as powerful melee weapons in a technique known as Fireblade. Additionally, a technique passed down by the Diamonts’ most revered warriors weaponizes the high temperature of the liquid crystal substance as a ranged weapon, known as the Magmaul.
Consumption of food is a speedy affair. The Diamont will envelope its prey entirely, where their spongy inner bodies rapidly break down and digest the food. Reproduction occurs via a similar process, with two Diamonts fusing their liquid crystal layers together in order to share genetic material between their inner bodies. Offspring then bud from the female’s body, eventually being birthed surrounded by some of the mother’s own outer body material.
Culture
Diamont culture is poorly understood due to the lack of information, with much of it being contradictory. While contradictions are commonplace in the breadth of all societies, they are more stark here due to the sheer absence of information. However, there are some throughlines in the information we do have. Diamonts revered their warriors and hunters, possessing a strong honor system that governed their society. For much of their history, their most revered members were War Chieftains, unrivaled combatants who lead their people. Clothing was rare among their kind, usually used for ceremonial gatherings, or to project status to others. Due to their amorphous nature, standardization of garb was non-existent, and clothing was made to conform to a Diamont’s preferred form. Communication is typically verbal, though sign language and written language were also common.
History
The history of the Diamonts is a vast ocean of mystery with rare islands of truth. Their early days and development to a space-faring civilization are completely unknown. We do, however, know that the furthest their kind reached beyond their home was to inhabit dozens of habitable planets, in a governing body known as The Consolidation. At some point, a consolate was sent to the Alimbic Cluster within the Tetra galaxy in order to make contact with the Alimbic Civilization. While the meetings are said to have gone well, their purpose is unknown, as is their method of traveling to another galaxy. Multiple conflicts with other species are known, from the Chozo to Zebesians. Spire himself was wounded in a battle against an unknown race called the Beotere when he was injured and put into a medically induced coma, waking up around the point of the Metroid Crisis. The Beotere themself, a race which are otherwise undocumented, attempted to capture the Diamont species in order to extract the valuable resources contained within their bodies. While the end of this conflict is unrecorded, the fact that their history extends further forward seems to indicate that this war was won by the Diamonts. The end of the conflict between the two is unknown. The last known conflict the Diamont species partook in was against the Chozo, with the War Chieftan of this era being known as Core Matter, the same Chieftan from the war against the Beotere. The Diamonts were decisively defeated by this foe. Instead of utter destruction, the Chozo confined the Diamonts to their home star system. As the Chozo race began to wither and their numbers dwindled, the quarantine of the Diamonts was lifted. Beyond this, no further information is known, as these events occurred long before the forming of the Galactic Federation.

I made this spinel fanart a more humanized version ;D I really liked this character I identified a lot with her we have all felt abandoned and loveless at some point in our lives but you always meet people and friends who give you back your joy and makes you less naive now I hope you like it enjoy!
