ok but "you used to be the absolute best at flirting, but now that you've got me, your flirting consists of deliberately embarrassing me, because seeing me react to your idiotically bad jokes is apparently the highlight of your day" from the prompts list sounds totally like buddie so... pretty please? ♥ ~ @diazboys
In so many ways, dating Evan Buckley is exactly what Eddie expected. The thing about falling in love with your best friend in the entire world, was that your relationship tended to be a natural progression of your friendship. They’d already been so close, that throwing love in the mix hadn’t made for a foundational change.
No, not much had changed - it was just that now, Eddie was allowed to unashamedly hold Buck’s hand whenever he wanted (and sue him: Eddie wanted to hold Buck’s hand pretty much all the time, sliding his fingers between Buck’s as they walked into the station, or browsed the aisles of the grocery store) and he got to kiss Buck whenever he wanted, and Buck greeted him with a grin he saved especially for Eddie, every conversation starting with a reassuring ‘I love you’ because both of them had held those words back for so long, that it was hard to keep them in, now, both Eddie and Buck taking every opportunity to exchange quiet ‘I love yous’ because it wasn’t something you could say too often.
Dating Buck was nice.
Buck was a very attentive boyfriend. Eddie hadn’t been surprised by that. As a friend, Buck was attentive – he listened, and he noticed, even when Eddie tried to hide things from him, and so it made sense that attentiveness carried over into their newfound romantic relationship. Buck watched, and observed, and he listened, and he knew when to step in and take some weight off Eddie’s shoulders, even if it was just moving the laundry from the washing machine to the dryer and let Eddie sleep in twenty minutes later than normal.
Buck was also romantic as hell. That – that had been a surprise. Eddie had gotten glimpses of it before, with Taylor, but those had been glimpses – by time Buck was dating Taylor, though neither of them had been able to put words to the feeling just yet, it had felt wrong to talk about Buck romancing someone else. Buck was romantic, was the point – he bought Eddie a wonderfully cliché bunch of red roses on their first date, and he’d opened the car door for Eddie, and held his hand as they’d walked into the restaurant, and he’d paid, and for the first time in his life, Eddie had felt truly wooed. The romance had continued, those first few tentative weeks of dating, flowers and presents and politely opened car doors and post it notes left on Eddie’s pillow when Buck had to leave the Diaz household in the morning.
Eddie had loved every second of it – and it’s not as though the romance was gone, now they’d been together for eight months, but their relationship had evolved from those giggly, honeymoon-esque days. You couldn’t live in a bubble of romance forever, Eddie supposed – they had jobs, and a kid, and a half dozen other responsibilities that had helped their relationship evolve into something more serious, more stable. The romance stayed, though – breakfast in bed, and being woken up by Buck kissing him silly, and their strictly adhered to rule of a date night (with no Christopher – sorry, kid) at least once a month, and Buck took him to museums and on hikes and late evening beach walks and dinner dates and he always held Eddie’s hand, and kissed Eddie like it was the only thing he ever wanted to do, and it was perfect.
It was just that –
Buck had developed a new way of flirting, and Eddie was pretty sure his boyfriend was doing it to deliberately embarrass Eddie. Eddie wasn’t much of a guy for PDA – whether that PDA was physical, or in words. He liked holding Buck’s hand, and sitting close to Buck, and Chimney claimed that Eddie’s possessiveness for the younger man rolled off him in waves whenever they were on a call, or on a night out in their favourite badge and ladder joint (and at parent teacher meetings and PTA group, Buck would add – but Chimney had never seen the way Eddie walked around the bake-sale prep with his hand in the back pocket of Buck’s jeans to ward off the PTA moms and dads, and Eddie would prefer that stayed between himself and Buck, actually) – but Eddie didn’t exactly go crazy with PDA otherwise.
Neither did Buck, normally. There was something about their relationship that felt too good, too special, too meaningful, to share that way.
The one thing Buck did love to do – and this really was new – was make terrible jokes and embarrass the living hell out of Eddie.
The first time it happened, Eddie wasn’t sure how to react – and maybe he should have reacted, because Buck kept doing it, finding the most inappropriate moments to joke, or flirt badly with Eddie, and Eddie wasn’t sure he could cope with it.
Eddie tried not to be annoyed by it. Really – he did. But the comments always came at the most ridiculous, inappropriate moments, and it always made Eddie embarrassed, his toes curling in his shoes when Buck would make a flirty comment. And listen – it wasn’t good flirting. Eddie was only human; he liked the good, sexy flirting, but this? This was just silliness of the highest order.
Especially when the pickup lines started.
“Hey, Eddie?” Buck called, standing by the vegetable section, waving a cucumber around. If this was about to be a sex joke, Eddie was going to murder his boyfriend in the produce section – no regrets. “If you were a vegetable, you’d be a cute-cumber!” he grinned, beaming across the aisle at Eddie.
Eddie rolled his eyes. “Put the cucumber down, Buck,” he managed, trying to swallow his smile at the pun. He was not going to let Buck win this one.
i’m always gonna fight to come home to my family.
for the fic game - "It's barely 10 a.m on a Sunday - which in Eddie's calendar is the day of sleeping in and not dealing with stuff - and he's already exhausted." (Also happy birthday! I hope you've had/are having a nice one ♥♥♥) ~ @diazboys

it’s barely 10a.m on a sunday - which in eddie’s calendar is the day of sleeping in and not dealing with stuff - and he’s already exhausted. chris had woken up uncharacteristically early, full of beans and raring to go at 7am, which normally wouldn’t be a problem for eddie if his arm wasn’t still in a sling.
so far, they’d cycled through morning cartoons, a puzzle, 30 minutes of animal crossing, another puzzle (“dad, this one has dinosaurs”) and now they were back to cartoons. the pain medication eddie was on had his head bobbing where he was sat on the sofa, the sharp ache easing off into a dull throb as his eyes tried to close on him.
eventually, he lost the battle with his exhaustion, letting the inky nothingness pull him under and awaking an indeterminate amount of time later, horizontal on the sofa, covered in a blanket and chris sleeping on his chest. thank god for you, kid, he thought as the darkness consumed him once again.

Okay so
I don't really like walking. I want to move faster and people are always on the way, but sometimes it's kinda relaxing?
I'm the kind of person that when i find a pair of underwear or socks that are perfect, i go back and buy at least another 10. This backfired me when i bought a series of underwear that were defective and now i have.... Problems 😂 they were cheap, tho
I'm always the tech person. If something doesn't work they always call me. It's not that i know the solution, i just know what i can try without making it worse 😂
I used to have a tuft of blue hair. I loved it!
I'm rewatching sense8 and this time is giving something more, something bigger i can't yet explain
