The Diazes find more than what they bargained for when they discover Christopher’s new classmate’s secret.

They have new seating arrangements today! Mrs. Segarra points Christopher to his assigned seat, and he's surprised to see someone he doesn't recognize in the desk beside his. She remains quiet when he sits down, but Christopher is happy to make the first move. “Hi, I’m Christopher!” he says confidently, smiling at her. The girl doesn’t look at him for a few moments, and he wonders if she didn't hear him. Maybe she's too busy with… whatever she's holding? “Hello. My name is Kamado," the device says. Her name is spoken in a different voice than the rest, like it was recorded by someone instead of just a machine. Christopher's eyes grow wide, looking from the machine to the girl. "Wow! That machine can talk for you?" "Yes." "That's so cool!"

Ravi thought he knew what it meant to be a mentor, but the 118’s new probie gives him a new perspective.

Bobby beckons Ravi to follow him into his office. This doesn't happen often, so Ravi's first worry is that he's in trouble; his second is that he'll be booted back to B-shift. B-shift isn't bad. He likes the others on B-shift. But they're not the same as the crazy but lovable crew on A-shift. Time crawls as Bobby closes the door… makes his way behind the desk… and motions for Ravi to sit down. Bobby takes a deep breath. Ravi instinctively holds his. "I want you to take Em under your wing." Yep, here it is, he knew it, he's being fi- "-Wait… what?"

i am Thinking bc my brain rn is saying BCBXYDGDUDUD thinking about them, there's so much to say

1. let's go with an easy one first: the vulnerability. jonathan being the one person she confides in about her upside down worries. like, i'm a big fan of her having other positive relationships, too, but the fact that there's this part that she so very closely guards and yet makes the active choice to let jonathan in on. excellent.

2. the way they look at each other. the relief on nancy's face when she sees jonathan at the end of s4 for their reunion >>>>>>>

3. third, let's make it a little more complicated. the potential. i think if after s1 different storytelling directions would have been taken there are so many things that are there - from the s3 conflict that could have had sm more depth to nancy insisting jonathan be just a little more selfish bc he just keeps on giving or avoids without confronting the problem to them in trios interacting with their brothers, with robin, with steve... idk there's just so much there! not even getting into all the au potential
