Not only is B*rbara G*rdon frequently held up as an “acceptable” alternative to love interests of color, that was literally the entire point of her character’s inception. Seriously, look it up. The 60s Batman series invented B*tgirl to be a potential love interest for Bruce after they hired a Black actress to play Catwoman. I’m not saying it’s bad to like B*rbara, it’s literally fine, but understand that the way she’s used by the Bat narrative is off-putting to some people and that’s entirely valid. Also, if they make a B*tgirl and Nightwing movie I’m not watching it. Especially after they cancelled Titans and especially if they hire a white girl to play her after cancelling Leslie’s B*tgirl movie. Sometimes too much is just too much.
Shawn Tsang/Dick Grayson is insane to me (affectionate) bc it's like. "You helped apprehend me as teenagers and ultimately I became a better person for it and I've been kind of in love with you since to the point where I can clock your secret identity after interacting with both your identities only a few times." Like, ma'am
Whenever there’s a ship war in fandoms I feel so awkward since I usually love all characters involved so it’s like witnessing my parents fighting /j
i think dick's internal monologue with shawn tsang is "what if i put my mouth on her mouth. do you think she'll stop thinking about whatever gets into her brain" and then he does kiss her and she still manages to not shut up about like airlines or cubism or that dog one of her kids brought into the center or whatever else she's thinking about
