“Technically,” Diego lifted his arms above his head and stretched, “It’s not our job to be heroes, right? Shouldn’t an armada be coming for us? Warships? Search parties? Quite frankly, I’m shocked at the lack of response from our nations! We’re beloved!” He said it with faux indignation as a smile broke out across his face. “But no, I’m not going to steal a ship. I’m going to wait for the professionals to come save us. As they should!”
“Well, if we’re gonna get hung up on technicalities, we might as well get used to the thought of being here,” Luce observed. Some of those royals had been trapped in that island for over a year, and, perhaps they were following the lead of the prince that was next to her and deciding to wait until people did what they should do. Perhaps it was something else, though Lucy was a bit disappointed. “So, we’re supposed to just sit here and idly wait?” She wondered. “Because, if depositing my trust on other people has taught me anything is that: more often than not, they’ll let you down.”
