Frankie baby, I need some advice. I spent $300 on amiibos, and now my parents are disappointed in me. How do I spend more money while receiving less judgement?

Generic superhero AU again. If you think Yusei should have a connection to both stars and machines, what about light-based powers? Both stars and electricity can generate light. Constructs made of light, moving at light speed, etc. And in a similar vein, Rua could have earth-based powers. Moving stones feels like it could be seen as a connection to his Power Tool Dragon, but then he could start growing giant trees and buffing his allies as a connection with Life Stream or something.

I like these ideas!!!

Electricity would be cool (even though I don't know how much Yusei would be a fan of that specific element after his jail time lol), I like the idea of Yusei being able to literally reach light speed, it works as anime ref too. Too many valid options to pick a specific one, I'd go for something that puts them all together somehow

I'd leave the trees to Aki XD moving stones sounds fitting (like earth bending? hahah) and buffing allies would mirror his sister's ability as a support!

Frank suggesting cybering out here in 2023

I was thinking of suggesting more physical things, but I was struck by the phrase "cybering out" -- I realized that I'd never been cybering in! So now I'm suddenly extremely curious and want to learn how to cyber (or maybe I just want to cyber so I can cyber with someone? idk)

Anyway, please give me tips and tricks and things to try with this new cyber skill I've acquired!

I just had an idea for the social media AU. Yusei, Crow and the twins team up to make an elaborate Rube Goldberg machine going throughout the entire house purely to smack a sleeping Jack in the face with a pie.

What's funny is that they would have all the means to achieve that. Yusei would be the engineer genius of the team. The twins would make up the creative design. Crow would... keep their determination strong... and lead Jack to the trap... x°D iconic prank that made them go viral

Ok so I know we've been over the Marcel AU, but what about a more generic superhero AU? Like, what powers would you give everyone if you had free reign? For example, I think super strength could fit Jack, though that might be a little generic.

Hmm I'd rather stay generic for now, as giving detailed super-powers implies a well-defined world building hahaha

Yusei is associated with knowledge of mechanics and strategy, electricity, speed, but also stars, union, transcendence. He's the prototype of a leader, so I'd go for something that can express its true potential not only for a single user, but in a group/alliance. I don't know what it would be yet, but it would have these features.

Jack's essence is fire. Power, strength. He's instinctual but analytical (I really like the strategies he uses in duels!), indomitable but loyal. I'd stay on a simple level and go for these two main things.

Crow could fly, and it would be enough for me. He’s a responsible big bro, he earns his freedom by default. Give him all the freedom he can get. Whatever he gets more than that is a bonus.

I feel like Aki’s too easy for this game hahahaha I can’t separate her from the “nature” concept. Poison Ivy vibes. I also gave her a healing power in the Medieval AU to mirror what she gets at the end of the 5ds series (I see these two options being strongly tied anyway), so that would be amazing too.

About the twins, I’d make Ruka the one who can travel across dimensions or stuff like that. She’s very “spiritual”, her connections feel like a superpower of their own. She would never be on the frontline, but she’s an excellent support though. She also represents the greatest motivational element for Rua, I’d rather see HIM on the frontline and surprise everyone with some newfound power, stuff like that. He kinda makes me think of (Marvel) Spiderman, the kid everybody perceives as too young and inexperienced for the battlefield, but who actually has an unimaginable potential and represents an important element for the success of the team. About his superpower, I wouldn’t really know, I’d kinda go back to what I said about Yusei, there are common elements between them.

Detective AU

At first I thought about Detective Conan, but then I realized I don't want this AU very much. I wish Detective Conan actually had Shinichi as a protagonist for the whole time. I wish he wasn't a child for 99% of the show. If Yusei had to be Shinichi, he'd have to be child!Yusei, and for how much I like him as a child too, I probably love him way more in his adult and mature version. I'm also not a big fan of Ran... like, she's nice but she's naive and she's mostly cool bc she knows karate like a pro. She gets redundant though. That's it

ANYWAY I do think a Detective AU would be excellent. Yusei is an amazing problem-solver, and he's got a fantastic team of support. I imagine the Dark Signers or Yliaster being like huge criminal organizations he needs to take down in one way or the other, which gets dangerous sometimes. There's a lot of potential!
