happy [early] birthday, sid!

Rei @dienli seeking a moment of comfort at her wedding to Iroh the Younger; she gets anxious at big social occasions, and they don't come bigger than the crown prince's wedding!

I like highligting the Southeast Asian aspects of the Fire Nation, so I couldn't wait to see Rei [birth name Lệ] in Thai national dress.

I also wanted to see Iroh in Fire Nation general armor; I like to imagine it's what he goes for in the most important ceremonial occasions, basically the fanciest thing possible that's still distinctly soldierly.

@isatpanart did an absolutely fantastic job on this, everyone go check them out and commission them if you have the budget, rates are very reasonable.

Zuko kept his hands folded neatly behind his back as he trailed the tour group, his expression carefully neutral while the guide prattled on about the Fire Lord Zuko’s later years.

He paused when they stopped before a large portrait of him seated stiffly in ceremonial robes, gaze fixed on some unknown point of focus. He leaned slightly toward the woman beside him, lowering his voice politely.

“Be honest,” he nodded toward the painting. “Does it look like I’m gassy? My wife insists that I do,” he added with the long-suffering tone of a man who had already lost this argument several times.

On hearing the door creak open, Korra’s hands went up to block her face, tilting her chin down –– A FORCE OF HABIT. Hiding herself was second nature. She had only just discovered this unlocked building and thought it to be abandoned. The PERFECT home away from home ( wherever that was! ) As it turned out, a little too perfect. Nothing comes that easy. “Sorry, I didn’t know anyone lived here,” she mumbled. “I was just leaving.”
