Last night was amazing. Felt like it was 1993/1994 again and @bellakarina143 and I were gettin down like we were teenagers again! The nostalgia and good feelings music from your youth can bring is one of a kind... Last time I saw Digable Planets was 1993 at the Ogden theater in Denver (could have been '94) and I 12 or 13. Spearhead opened up for them and man, I was a major DP fan. They were my first CD. LL Cool J Mama Said Knock You Out was my first Tape but DP was my first CD and at that age when I found out they were in town I had to go. My mom being the cool mom she is drove my friend Erik and I down to the venue but only I had a ticket. I told Erik, "bro I've got to go in, try and get a scalper ticket but if not I've still got to go in" lol. How I knew about this kind of stuff at 12 is something else but I went in and got front row alone! Erik made it in eventually and some how found me (no cell phones in those days kids) and we had the time of our lives. The female singer in Spearhead pulled me up on stage and I almost lost my shit. My mom being the amazing woman she is chilled in the car at that car wash across the street (you Denver people know what I'm talking about) and was there when we got out. Not to many parents would have done that for their kid at 12 years old in '93 at a hip hop show downtown on a school night. That rocks! Thanks Ma! But anyway, last night was beautiful and brought back so many memories and feelings that I literally got chills on the last song of their set. (Rebirth of Slick -Cool Like Dat) The energy was on 10, the vibe was right and us "old heads" showed the Youngins how to really get down. BIG shout out to @itsmefranswa and @alvin3deep303 @3deepdenver @axstv For making sure Denver has the best shows to entertain us no matter if it's a Friday or a Tuesday! Thank you fellas we had blast! #hiphop #music #love #enery #life #youth #memories #travelbackintime #digableplants #gothictheater #goodvibes @digablesoul (at Gothic Theatre)
