i can't name just one thing about the way you play you characters because i literally love every single nuance you write into them. their dialogue, their mannerisms. spending hours upon hours headcanoning with you gives me more insight than i've ever had into any character i've ever played against because you're able to capture them so well, no matter canon or completely and totally au. you still manage to keep them who they are, no matter what we throw them into

          “ looks like we survived down there for nothing, ” he tells whoever is standing beside him, barely even noticing who it is and mostly talking to himself. keeping to himself for all those years had been one of the hardest things he’d ever done. trying to keep out of blodreina’s sight and off her radar was more difficult than it should have been. and you’d think a person like him would have been all over the fighting and bloodshed, and he was -- just not for himself. he enjoyed seeing the fights, watching the people take out each other and the anger that flashed in their eyes. but he was no fighter, and he accepted his fate of trying to keep out of the fighting cage.

          it was hard to believe that after six years they were finally seeing the sunlight again. as soon as she was hoisted up and she felt the warmth on her face she immediately felt better than she had in years. the concrete walls that had surrounded her were now just a memory and she found herself basking in the sunlight more than she should have been. everything was gone though and her basking was short-lived when she finally took in the entirety of the damage that praimfaya had caused. it broke her heart to see the once green earth burnt to nothing. once lexa is up with her she’s quick to find her again, her heart aching for the people they lost once again. “ what do we do now? how do we rebuild from this? ”

"That’s not true!” They’d gone through this so many times when they were younger, and Emily had foolishly hoped that they were past this now that they had years apart to grow. Apparently not. “I need you.” Her voice was low and strained, and she hoped Marissa appreciated just how much it took for her to admit that. The thought of watching the blonde walk out of her life forever.. she had barely survived it the first time, and that was only because she had Cam. Maybe it was selfish, maybe Emily was just too scared to be alone again, but she didn’t want to take Marissa for granted, and she didn’t want Marissa to feel like that was what she was doing.

alex and maggie

Alex and Maggie have very visceral reactions to each other, but not always in ways that are positive. Right from the get go, they have an instant connection, that causes them to rush into things before they’re ready, and it leads to both of them getting hurt even though it could have been avoided. They care very deeply for each other, but don’t ever really stop to think whether being together in a romantic sense is healthy for either of them. They are two very headstrong, stubborn women who hold their cards very close to their chest. In many respects, they are alike, almost too alike to be compatible, but they make it work in a way where they end up butting heads and sassing each other in equal amounts.

Emily stiffened, not bothering to turn and look at her best friend. It seemed like all she could do these days was screw things up even more for herself. She shouldered her purse and straightened her back. If all people expected was for her to turn out like her mother, then far be it for her to disappoint them. “Well, I am my mother’s daughter after all. The Bartons have a name to uphold.”
