these wallpapers are here for example, and i'd prefer if they weren't actually used by others. please make your own hypersigil wallpapers, you can use mine as inspiration!
i make hypersigillic wallpapers to remind myself of my manifestations and magical aims throughout my day-to-day. these can be made very simply or as complexly as you desire. i like to use these when i have no energy to do real spellwork, because i can do it all from my phone!
i include things that bring me dopamine (fandom imagery, nature, aesthetic images, etc.) to draw my eye
i add pertinent esoteric symbols (runes, sigils) and pngs (tarot figures, esoteric arts) onto the wallpaper
i add manifestations, incantations, or other reminders to the wallpaper in cute fonts
in my substack article on hypersigil spellbooks, i have a description on hypersigils which i'll put an excerpt of below the cut. i will also include the apps that i use to make these wallpapers personally, although you can use almost any photo editing system.
apps:
image sourcing: Pinterest, Picsart (there's probably much better sources than these, i am just uneducated here.)
png extraction: iphone photos, remove.bg
photo editing, png addition: Picsart
text addition: Phonto
custom fonts: dafont.com
excerpt from Spellbooks: Using your Notebooks as Spells 📚📜🖋️✨:
A hypersigil is a long-form narrative work of magic. A hypersigil seeks to produce an overwhelming body of evidence to the senses (waking, dreaming, liminal, and unconscious) that things are different from what the mind tells us they should be. In time, as we build the hypersigil, we tend to see reflections of our written narrative manifest in our life. In Grant Morrison’s case, his comic series The Invisibles was a graphic-novel version of a hypersigil, and one of the characters in the story was a version of himself. As he wrote the stories, various parts of the tale began to manifest in his life, for better or sometimes worse.[1]
We can create hypersigils in a variety of formats; as hypersigils are based in art, there are almost endless forms they can take. One of the simplest and most versatile of these is the notebook, as described in this article.
I lowkey feel like there must be some… spirit? deity? of electronics who presides over the classic ‘turn off and on again’ and/or ‘unplug it and plug it back in’. idk if it would have a name, but I might have to come up with a ritual to thank them
this post brought to you by, my external hard drive just… suddenly working this morning, despite not working the entirety of the last two days, despite not beind readable or mountable for the previous two days.
there was plenty of plugging/unplugging (via eject in disk utility, I knew what I was doing lmao), restarting of both the uploading and downloading ends of the attempted transfer (I have a new laptop, and files I need from my old one). no dice.
I remember PLEADING to my hard drive to work the next day. like, literally ‘i need to give up for the night, please work tomorrow’. But like,,, I definitely didn’t expect that to WORK?? Now I know to direct those sentiments… somewhere lol
So I just found out that shufflemancy is a thing and !!! I get important messages from songs all the time and I have a massive music library on my computer, so I’m hella going to try it.
