Hi! I'm hoping to get a Beardie soon, I have all the food, lighting and tank stuff sorted out, but do you know of any reliable breeders/sellers or reptile cons in Australia?

Sorry, but I don’t! I’m based in Canada >w<

It’s been a few months, so i’m not quite sure - I think I got it from a dollar store, but most pet stores should have collars for kittens/puppies/toy dogs! the bell I got off a lindor rabbit at christmas :P

lizards can see red & blue light! so colored bulbs would still keep em awake. i recommend getting a ceramic heat emitter, they give off no light! my lizard has 1 and it keeps the tank at a good temp. thank u 4 reading sorry i dont mean 2 b intrusive

no problem! I know of ceramic heat emitters, and I would like to get her one - but currently I can’t, the place where her tank is can’t have a heat emitter around it. (she’s in a little nook with wooden cupboards above her tank, and I wouldn’t want to risk setting a fire haha)

I know they can see the light, but I find the blue light gives off much less light than the red, and she’s slept much better under it. When we move (hopefully spring ‘17) I will most certainly be looking into getting a ceramic heat emitter, but for now, specially while she’s sleeping, I’ll have to keep with the colored bulbs.

i like ur lizard anyway im sorry but what do you do about lighting/heat at night

Digit has a heat lamp at night - I usually use a blue one because I find it gives off a LOT less light than a red one does. But during the winter I put in a higher watt red one to save the blue one for when she’s more awake haha

What kind of tile do you have in digits tank? I'm looking in to getting some and I don't know what kind to get or what's best for my beardie.

I dont use real tiles just because I have a glass tank and i dont wanna risk anything happening, I use non adhesive lineoleum! like the roll stuff you get for kitchens, I just cut a rectangle the size of her tank and stuck it in there, it’s a breeze to clean up!

I am super impressed with your tank set up! I wish mine were as well decorated 😂What products do you use to clean in there?

I mostly just use 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water! I dont want the vinegar to be too strong, but it does the trick. then i use paper towels and doggy poop bags from the dollar store to keep the mess all tied up and cleaned away!

thankfully digit isnt usually the messiest creature so she’s easy to clean up after, i just hope this coming spring she doesnt get all full of beans like she did this past spring! she was such a mess monster!

Where did you get that tiny gazebo from?

Sorry this is a bit late!

My mother-in-law somehow managed to get it from a employee at Canadian Tire. Some stores often have miniature displays for tents and gazebos, and apparently usually they just toss them out when they don’t carry the stock anymore, if an employee doesn’t take it home!

So it’s a mystery as to how exactly she managed to get her hands on it, but she did, and brought it home for Digit!

Where did you get the little beardie balcony?

if you’re asking about the brown grout-covered one, I made it! using styrofoam, hot glue, and grout.

I plan on making her a bigger,better one this summer. she’s kinda outgrown her current one.
