I'm just imagining Minato getting visions of the future thanks to Kurama of everything Naruto went through, like the discrimination and the neglect and Minato feels broken inside seeing it. Then he sees what Jiraiya pulled with asking Naruto to train while in Sexy Jutsu form and that's the last straw he's heading to an island now.

Jiraya, one morning—on a Tuesday, no different than any other—suddenly has a spiky yellow premonition of impending doom

I’m having Ideas™️ [4th war, our favorite fuckup obito at fault for the collapse? naturally, many are saying this (kakashi especially). meanwhile edo tensei minato watches the world start to crinkle, twist, and fold in on itself and is like, ohhh…. uh oh—and then he wakes up in his big bed with his wife, not dead, and not remembering any of it! but it was not quite all left behind, and he feels something has changed from last night to today…. :))))) ]

For your Dimensional Collapse AU: Okay so a detail about the Shiki Fuuin/Reaper Death Seal is that the user and their target are TORTURED in the Shinigami's stomach, and there is a theory that due to Shinigami being death spirit psychopomps and not the actual God of Death, that the Shinigami summoned by the Reaper Death seal is on contracted to the Uzumaki Clan (hence that one mask Orochimaru uses). I'm just imagining all the visions Minato has in his dreams is what his soul remembers from being in the Death God's stomach so Minato being tortured by visages of his arrogance leading to his son paying for his sins.

I do really like the concept of the shinigami contracted to the Uzumaki, and if Minato is going to be thrust back and freely into the land of the living, he’ll have to uphold his end of the bargain another way, perhaps changing fate’s trajectory of the Uzumaki clan. :)

As for the visions, I see it as a mix of things: Minato confronted by his own failures, the choices he’s made, and the allure of choices that could be. Though he could have mentally steeled himself for it at any other time, he’s thrown off kilter by what he’s seen now with his own eyes—his son Naruto, Obito, and a world at war. As he’s pulled down into the depths, his restarted heart pounding in his ears as space-time itself collapses into something altogether new, but heartbreakingly familiar, his edges are frayed in a way they never quite were before.

(Meanwhile, the part of Kurama tagging along with him is pressing his paw VERY hard on the scale of those visions to influence Minato on a path that benefits Kurama.)

dimensional collapse au was forever ago, but whenever I remember it I begin laughing~~~ team minato, aka the "we just woke up Like This one day" tbh sometimes am thinking Reaper Death Seal technique also got wrapped into the nonsense, and minato now has a whole ass shinigami acting as a normal summon. i think it would be so funny. also shisui just has three eyes now. one is in itachi's bird for some reason.

I just rolled through the Dimensional Collapse AU and it is sending me. My sister is writing a story where a past and a future timeline collapse together, but everyone stays independent of their other versions. I might have to write an AU where they fuse like this now. Because omfg this AU is peak. *shoots you with a beam of infinite love and inspiration*
