Oh no, I’m used to your level of inflammatory by now. You are generally about the level of rick-roll, so even when people do get mad at you, I don’t understand why they’re putting that much energy into being offended. I hate to say it, but the social justice bloggers who make blanket statements about how one group is inherently terrible and wait for someone to get offended so that they can smugly say “That’s just how a different group feels, but all the time!” The you have to watch out for. 

I’m following them for their interest in sci-fi, but I can’t really fault them for having other interests.

The Web Planet was kind of crap though. It’s like the director had never heard of a beat change. Good script, extremely creative and interesting production, but piss-poor direction made it borderline unwatchable. Very dull.

I disagree. It was highly creative, not only in terms of costumes, but also in production (vaseline on the lenses and a reverb on the mics? how cool is that?!). The story itself has multiple layers to it, that I firmly believe are too often ignored by naysayers who cite only some poor guy who can't see out of his costume.

It's a story about cancer and it's growth through the natural biological system. Now, that cancer could easily be viewed as pollution from point one, but on a cellular level, it can also be seen as the cancer that we as humanity are all too familiar with.

You may say the direction was "piss-poor" but the story itself is deep and intelligent and the production was very inventive. I don't find it unwatchable at all. In fact, I think it's probably one that I could easily watch not only in one sitting but also on repeat. Moments of seriousness (the Optera who sacrifices his life to save the others) paired moments of pure fun and silliness (the "hair dryer" comment) make this a treat to watch.

However, I know that you think Space Pirates is fantastic and I can't get through that one without copious amounts of caffeine, so we can just disagree. :)

They are in the serial Battlefield. Lots of good in that serial, lots of bad in that serial. Very mixed bag. But those two make it all worth it for me (and Jean Marsh because, well, she's Jean Marsh).

Bambera is the woman who took over after The Brigadier (whose death you saw mentioned in New Who), the second most important character in the show's canon (he met both 1's, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 on-screen and 6 and 8 in audio).

Personally, I was wondering how they're smarter than The Web Planet, Genesis of the Daleks, Vengeance on Varos and Happiness Patrol. But those were just the first ones in my head. The ones you've listed are also very excellent examples of the intelligence behind Classic Who.
