my biggest repaint project yet! creative beasts tyrannosaurus rex figure i repainted last year, sort of a wintery nighty theme ig
adopt this lad for yourself here
I turned this baby
Into THIS BABY
Took me about 6-7 hours total thanks to the fact that I have fast-drying acrylic paint
Touched up the claws, painted over most of the body except the underside and tongue, and it’s all covered with sealer so I don’t have to worry about paint getting scraped off
I don’t have a name for him yet, but I have three more of the 2015 figures to paint and I’m looking forward to it!
The Mire Ceratopsian The lush and murky swamp lands is what the Mire Ceratopsian calls home. It's feet caked in thick mud and dead vegetation as it wallows through water and silt of it's watery home. The constant state of it's wet skin has allowed moss and algae to grow on it, providing camouflage for it's environment and in return, a traveling haven for the green slimy foliage.

I had fun making this gal! Something a little different from the sauropods I have going on. Funny enough, she was tested in some water for water resistance. She passed! I already have her available up in my shop, which you can check out here!
I have the Safari Ltd. Carnegie Fighting Dilophosaurus set and really hated their coloring (The image above, second from the bottom, not mine though, mine had heart shaped markings like the image below)
So I decided to repaint them to look like the Dilos in the Jurassic Park novel. The last image, by March90 is based on the books description. ( https://march90.deviantart.com/art/Jurassic-Park-Dilophosaurus-675992619 )
The novel says they were yellow with black spots and a green underbelly as well as a red crest. I took mine in a slightly different direction, the markings aren’t the same as March90′s or any of the other artists I’ve seen draw them from the novel. But there are only so many ways to draw a yellow, black spotted, red crested, green bellied Dilophosaur, you know? So they all kind of look similar in a way, like they could all be related lol.
Anyways, its my first time doing a repaint on one of my dinosaur models and I’m pretty proud of these. I tried to make the upright one a bit lighter in color to make it different from the crouching one. They’re more yellow in person... Not sure if you can see that in the pics. I might take them outside to get better pictures once the weather cheers up, its been raining and cloudy a lot lately.
