This was an epic throwback!! Now that I'm back in Chicago after 31 yrs away, finding places that I frequented in the 80s is pretty amazing!! We used to go to Dino's on Friday night after softball, if I remember correctly. This might have even been the late 70s, not the 80s! When I heard they were still there, I had to check it out!! It had been so long that I didn't even remember what it had looked like so I cant say if it's the same now or not. But I had a good sense that it hadn't changed in many years!! It was still a little dicey, very much a neighborhood spot, which I loved about it. My friends and I were pretty hungry so we ordered soups to start while we waited for our thin crust pizza. I had a cream of asparagus, which was excellent!! First of all, it was served piping hot! Second, it was loaded with pieces of not only asparagus but also carrot and even some onion!! I would definitely order that again. And my friend said that their minestrone is one of the best that he has ever had!! Very high marks for the soups!! We ordered our pizza with sausage and onion. We ordered the largest size as we are 3 good sized hungry guys!! The pizza looked great upon arrival!! Their sauce is well herbed and just a little sweet. Had plenty of meat, maybe a little light on the onion would be my only small complaint. The thin crust was great, with the edge pieces nice and crispy! And it was plenty of food for all 3 of us, we even had a few pieces left over, which I was happy to take home!! I had always had fond memories of this place and I'm glad to know that it was just as good now as I imagined it had been back in the day!! This particular evening, I didn't pay, but I know for a fact that their prices are very reasonable being on the outer edge of the city near the suburbs. With high quality food as well as friendly service, I will definitely be back and I recommend anyone else check it out as well. It's a bit of a trek from down town but if you are staying near O'hare, it's only a 10, 15 minute drive or Uber. Totally worth it to get away from the chain pizza places near the airport. We didn't drink this night but I'm pretty sure that I also noticed very good beer prices as well. Very high recommendation for Dino's pizza on the NW side of Chicago!! Have a great day!!
