DINTIS Cliche 8 Cross and who ever
DINTIS by @onebizarrekai
Cross had been working for Nightmare for about a week when he’d stumbled across and incredible library. It seemed to go on for miles and miles within the castle, and it was painted in surprisingly light colors, considering how dark and grim most of the place was. He took great delight in grabbing a couple of books, retreating to a cozy nook and devouring each of them - careful to put the books back in place where he’d found them.
Months had gone by, and most of the missions he went on for Nightmare sucked majorly, but Cross found sanctuary in the beautiful library - it helped that either none of the others were aware of its’ existence, or didn’t like to read and thus avoided it.
Cross hummed softly as his fingers lightly skimmed across the titles, trying to pick one that he licked. Another hand brushed across his and the monochromatic skeleton let out a yelp of surprise, turning to face whoever it was.
The strange Sans yelped a little and took a couple of surprised steps back, their eyes widening in shock and surprise “Oh! Uhm… You’re new. Who are you?”
“I… I’m Cross, who are you?” Cross asked curiously, tilting his head a little at the other and staring at him “You’re new to me, too… Then again, I’ve only been working for Nightmare for… Like six months? What about you?”
“Oh, I don’t work for Nightmare… Not in the way that you probably do… I’m… He… We… My name is Dream.” The other responded his gold flecked blue eye lights hesitating for a moment as he tried to figure out just what to do or say. "… I belong to him. We’ve known one another for a very long time.“ Dream as he named himself smiled placidly at that, humming contentedly.
"I… Uhh… Okay. I’m just going to… Grab a book… And be over there…” Cross responded, feeling as if he really, really shouldn’t be in the same space as this strange being. “Nice to meet you Dream…” He most assuredly did not turn tail and run. He had the book he wanted and teleported to his room, thank you very much.
