Documenting this original conducted machine that is been attached with strings to a table,then it just continuously rotates its wing ( pen attached with a peg), depending on the type of the string and pen its been using, the variable of the movement leaves different motions of the mark it is making.

Variables:

Strings

earphone:

earlier we were using earphones as the string to hang the machine, it left a greater movement circle and as it would swing rapidly, then had greater change in mark making.

metal wires:

later using metal wires, which is shown on the video, would have a subtle movement from the stiff and heavier material that would make the pen move in a smaller change, the marks were more concentrated.

Pen

brush:

using a soft fat brush will leave beautiful strokes that is shaped from a circle and a nice tail at the end of that stroke, depending on the distance of the hanging from the brush to the paper on the ground.

felt marker:

as shown on the video, the marker here creates subtle and regular marks.

Possible future experiment:

- Using two pens/ brushes at the same time

- Using very soft strings, like sewing thread to make rapid movement

- Using wind power, may as natural wind or fan
